NOTES 22 Jay Series/Baja/Select Folding Camping Trailer Safety.
BEFORE YOU TRAVEL... WEIGHTS AND CARGO CAP ACITY The safety of your travel will be affected by your understanding of weights and c argo distribution for your trailer.
I WARNING: Do not add accessories or compon ent parts that are not safe and appropriate for this product. These chan ges will effect weight specifications, void the warranty and adversely effect handling and stability of the unit, as well as accelerate wea r to other component parts.
Rear Bumper I CAUTION : Do not add items to the trailer’s re ar bumper. Attachmen ts to the bumper could damage the trailer and lead to adverse d riving and towing con ditions. Your trailer’s rear bum per is not designed to accom modate item s attached to or carried on it.
Roof Additional item s secured to the roof of your trailer must be ad ded into the over all trailer weight. The load capacity of the roof must not be exceeded when loading the tr ailer. The maximum w eight of equipment secured to the roof of your traile r (in the travel mode) must not exceed 350#.
WEIGHING INSTRUCTIO NS As your packing and loading routine becomes more familiar from experience, physically weighing your trailer may not be necessary before each t rip. While you are developing a process, it is im perative that you verify com pliance within the w eight ratings.
EQUIPMENT The compatibility of your tow vehicle to the load you are towing i s of utmost priority for safety during your travel. There are many resources available to becom e educated about tow vehicles and what you will need. Make sure that you understand what it will take to tow your trailer, and that your tow vehicl e matches those needs.

• Turn the steering w heel as little as possible. Natural lag tim e reaction when counter-steering to correct sway could possibly make it worse. • If the trailer is equipped w ith electric brakes, using the h and control will help to keep the vehicles aligned.
The Safety Chain There are different safety chain requirem ents determined by the various state laws. Your vehicle is equipped with chains to meet SAE standard r equirements for maximum gross trailer weight. Always have the safety chains attached when tow ing.
TOWING While towing your trailer, you need to be aware of the extra wei ght behind your vehicle. The following list contains some pointers to remember while traveling, but i s not a substitute for consulting with your independent , authorized dealer and hitch professional s.
TIRES The tires on your RV are specially constructed for the unique requirem ents of recreation vehicle travel. Caution: Use of bleach or products containing bleach could potenti ally damage the tent material causing it to rot away. If such products are used, make sure that the cleaning is followed by several thorough rinses with clean wa ter. Condensation Condensation can be prevalent in folding camping trailers if pro per ventilation is not used.
DO NOT... • ...Fold or roll in extreme cold temperatures. • ...Drag your canopy across any abrasive surfaces, such as a cem ent drive. • ...Get insect spray on the fabric, as som e solutions may impair the water repellency of the fabric and cause staining.
Caution: To avoid problems of “yellowing” linoleum, the m anufacturer recommends to avoid using cleaners that contain oil based solvents ( i .e. cleaners containing lemon oil, Murphy’s Oil Soap, etc.). COUNTERTOPS Glass rings, food spills, water spots and smudges usually wipe off with a damp sponge.
