10 Section 1: Getting Started Data Retention It is vita l to keep your bat ter y ch arg ed. Bec ause y our PPC6 600 does not have a hard dr iv e, all data and any new progr ams you install are stored in RAM. If the batter y completely drains, any data or new prog rams you installed will be erased.

(The PPC6600 will pow er up and, if this is the r st time it has pow ered up, will automatically begin the initiation/calibr ation process.
