- 4 - 2. Setup 2.1 Batter y P ack 2.1.1 Inser ting into the Prin ter 1. Make sure that the printer has been turned o bef ore you insert or remove the ba tter y pack. 2. I nser t the battery pack into the back of the printer as in the gur e shown below , following the direc - tion of the arrow .
- 5 - Notes about the Batter y Pack u General Battery Characteristics • The battery is a consumable and its per formance ov er time will gradually decrease . • While not in use, the batt er y will slowly discharge itself . Pr epare a battery pack that has been charged relativ ely recently (1 to 2 da ys earlier).

- 7 - 2.2 Bluetooth 2.2.1 Connection 1. When you turn on the printer , it is ready to pair with another Bluetooth device . 2. If necessar y , enter the f ollowing information into the t erminal that you are using . PIN: 1234 (default) Device name: Star M icronics (default) F or secur ity purposes, we r ecommend that you change the PIN.
- 8 - 2.2.2 Aut o Connection F unc tion (only for iOS *1 ) When the Bluetooth connection with your iOS devic e (*2 is disconnected, it is r equired to establish a connection by tapping the printer you wan t to use on the Bluetooth setting screen.
- 9 - 2.3 Loading P aper Refer to chapter 4, “Paper ” (page 20), to select roll paper that conf orms to the specications. 1. T ur n on the printer . 2. Put y our nger on the lever for opening the co ver , and then open and raise the printer cov er .
- 10 - 4. Press down on both sides of the print er cover to close it rmly . When y ou close the printer cov er , make sure that it is closed on both sides. 5. Use the tear bar to cut the extra paper . CA UTION When the paper is jammed, be sure to open the print er cov er before removing the jammed paper .
