TASCAM DS-M7.1 5 1 – About the unit The T ASCAM DS-M7.1 is designe d to help y ou manage the mon itoring of mixe s of surround sound project s. All major s urround f ormats are sup ported, from LCRS to 7.

TASCAM DS-M7.1 25 7 – D ownmixing Downmi xing, as e xplai ned earlier , is the pro cess of folding a surround mi x into a f ormat usin g fe wer channels. This is don e for the purpose of checking com patib ility . Downmi xing is en abled and disa bled on th e DS- M7.

8 – Specifications 38 TASCAM DS-M 7.1 Making up a re mote contro l cable It is po ssible t o make tw o kinds of remote con trol cable, allo wing th e front pa nel of th e DS-M7.1 to be detached and used as a remote co ntrol unit. The f irst t ype may be up t o 5 m (about 15 feet) l ong (standar d cable) , and may use a general- purpose cable.
