3 PREP AR A TION FOR USE PROTECTIVE FILM Some of the panels on this unit are protected by plastic lm for protection in shipping. Remove all of this lm and any tape securing it before use. NOTE: Damage may result if lm or tape is lef t in plac e on the sliding front panel and pow er is connec ted to the unit.

6 DAB/F M RADIO AERIAL Before using your radio for DAB or FM r eception, un wrap and fully ex tend the aerial wire. Y ou may need to adjust the position of the aerial wire for maximum signal str ength. CONNECTING POWER Check that the mains v oltage marked on the ra ting plate • on the back of the unit is the same as the v oltage in your area.
7 SELECTING A ST A TION LISTENING T O DAB RADIO SELECTING DAB RADIO OPERA TION T o selec t DAB radio operation: Press the • DAB/FM/A UX butt on repeatedly until ‘W elcome to Digital Radio’ is displayed. After a few seconds , the radio will tune to the last-used station.
8 DAB & F M DISPLA Y MODES DAB DISPLA Y MODES When playing a DAB station you can change the information on the display by changing the display mode . T o change the display mode: Press the MENU/INFO button repeat edly t o cycle through the options listed in the chart below .
9 DAB SCANNING DAB SCANNING When rst used, your audio system scanned the DAB band for available stations. The station ser vices found were then stored in y our system ’ s memory. Y ou can r e-scan the band a t any time if you move to a dierent area or just to r efresh the stor ed list of available sta tions.
10 LISTENING T O A CD REMOVING THE P ACKING FROM THE CD PLA YER Before connecting pow er to your audio syst em, the pr otective packing should be remov ed from the CD compartment. T o remove the prot ective packing: Follow the instructions in the next section to open the • CD door .
11 LISTENING T O A CD REPEA T Y ou can repeat a single track or the whole disc. T o set a repeat mode: Press the • REPEA T button on the remote control to step through the options of REP_1 (repeat current track) and REP_ALL (repeat all tr acks). REP_1 or REP_ALL will be displayed .
12 LISTENING T O MP3/WMA C OMPIL A TIONS ST ORED ON CD-ROM, USB DRIVE OR SD -CARD MP3/WMA PLAYBA CK: Y our system can also play MP3 or WMA music compilations recor ded onto a CD-ROM or saved to a USB ash drive or SD- card.
13 Fast search: T o fast search through a track, press and hold the • } or { button. The player will fast sear ch thr ough the track at high speed in the chosen direction until the button is r elea sed .
14 PROGRAM PLA Y PROGRAMMING When playing a CD or a MP3/WMA compilation, y ou can st ore a random sequence of up to 32 tracks ( CD) or 64 tracks (MP3/ WMA compilation) t o play in your pr eferred or der . STORING A PROGRAM ( CD) T o store a program: Load the CD that y ou want to pla y .
15 If you own an iPod Shue, a model without dock connector or prefer to connect your iPod by cable, you can connect the sound output to the Aux/Line In jack on the side panel.
16 iP od/iPhone DOCKING BA Y Y our system includes a built-in dock for an iPod or iPhone. NOTE: iPod in the text of this sec tion refers to both iPod and iPhone models. T o open the iPod dock: Press the • CD/iPod/USB/CARD button until ‘iPod’ is displayed .
17 PLA YING FROM AN iP od T o play music from your iP od Press the • CD/iP od/USB/CARD button r epeatedly until ‘iP od’ is display ed. Y ou can now opera te your iPod fr om the controls on the front panel or remote c ontrol.
18 SET TING THE TIMER Y our system includes a timer that enables you to set times for the system to switch on and swit ch o automatically . T o set the timer: Set the unit to Standby . • Press and • hold the TIMER button on the remot e control .
19 SY STEM RESET HEADPHONES There is a headphone output socket on the side panel of the unit. If headphones are connected to this socket for privat e listening , the speakers will cut out automatically . DAB is a terrestrial system and frequencies in dierent areas vary.
20 W ARR ANTY Y our T esco appliance is covered by a warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase. If a fault develops during this period, please contact the TESC O elec trical help line on 0845 456 6767. Please ha ve your original purchase receipt with you when you call.
