Connections and initial set up 3 EN EN Connecting: D VD pla y er + TV set + VCR If you are only connecting your player to your tele vision set, only car r y out the connections shown in stages 1 and 5. If no Scart-Peritel socket is av ailable on the TV set consult your retailer .

Pla ying a disc 11 EN EN Using the information banner The information banner appears at the top of the scr een when you pr ess INFO on the remote contr ol unit while a disc is being pla yed.
Pla ying a disc 12 T o access the inf ormation banner , pr ess INFO on your r emote contr ol unit during pla yback. Use arr ow ke ys and on the remote contr ol unit to select the various icons. When an icon is selected it is highlighted. The line under the banner is an information and instruction line.
Pla ying a disc 13 EN EN Languag e of the subtitles (D VDs) 1. While a disc is being pla yed, pr ess INFO to displa y the information banner . 2. Press until the subtitle icon is highlighted. 3. Press OK to star t (or stop) the function. Subtitles a vailable on the disc appear .
Pla ying a disc 14 Repeat pla yback of a scene betw een tw o points A and B (D VD - VCD - SVCD) A-B Repeat mode allo ws y ou to select exactly the sequence you wish to repeat. 1. Select the repeat pla yback function using the or ke ys. A-B Repeat a ppears under the banner .
Pla ying a disc 15 EN EN Camera angles (D VDs) A fe w D VD discs contain scenes shot fr om various differ ent angles. If a disc being pla yed back offers diff erent camera angles the icon in the banner will show the number of the angle on the scr een.

Menus 19 EN EN Lock menu Y ou pla y er mak es it possible to set ratings limits to pla ying discs and to lock pla yback for discs that contain information or scenes that exceed the ratings limit y ou hav e set. This function allows you, for instance , to contr ol the type of matter a child can watch.
Menus 20 Changing a passw ord 1. If a disc is being pla yed, pr ess ST OP (the pla yer men u appears). 2. Press to highlight Lock and pr ess OK (if requested to do so k ey in y our passw ord; the Lock men u appears). 3. Press the k e y to highlight P asswor d and press OK (a screen f or entering the new passw ord appears).
Menus 21 EN EN Displa y menu The Displa y menu pro vides you with settings to adapt the pictur e f ormat and TV standard (P AL/NTSC) to that of your TV set. Y ou can also adjust the brightness of the pla yer’ s display panel and activate the Pr ogressiv e Scan function.

Menus 23 EN EN Sound menu The Sound menu pr ovides you with settings so y ou can adapt your pla yer to the de vices connected. It also enables y ou to access specific functions. Sound Logic This function is designed for night-time listening to a void disturbing y our neighbours.
Menus 24 Digital output According to the amplifier or TV set (with or without an in-built Dolby or DTS decoder) to which you connect y our D VD pla yer , you will ha ve to set the parameters of the CO.

Y ou can change the language of the pla yer menus, the language of the disc menus, the language of the dialogues and that of the subtitles. In the menu, choose your pr eferr ed language for dialogues and subtitles.
