1 Contents EN This manual applies to se veral TV set models. Some featur es ma y not be a vailable on the model you pur chased. Refer to the featur e table pro vided with this manual to find out the main featur es of the rele vant model.
2 Chapter 1 Getting star ted EN Impor tant information Safety Ensur e that y our domestic mains supply v oltage matches the voltage indicated on the identification stick er located at the back of your set. The TV set's components ar e sensitiv e to heat.
3 Getting star ted EN 1. Inser t two LR03 or AAA batteries in the r emote contr ol. Precautions on using batteries: - Only use the batter y types specified. - Make sure you use the correct polarity. - Do not mix new and used batteries. - Do not use rechargeable batteries .
Getting star ted 4 EN Remote contr ol TV functions Most of your tele vision’ s functions ar e a vailable via the menus that a ppear on the screen. The remote contr ol supplied with your set can be used to na vigate thr ough the men us and to configure all the general settings.
5 Getting star ted EN O O Using the r emote contr ol for other equipment The remote contr ol supplied with y our television ma y vary depending on the model you ha v e chosen. Some remote controls can be used f or other equipment, such as video recor ders or D VD pla yers.
6 Chapter 2 Channel set-up EN Initial set-up Initial set-up inv olves selecting all the settings r equir ed to be able to search f or and store all the channels y ou can r eceive. Mak e sure that the tele vision is switched on and follo w all the steps in turn specified on this page.
7 Channel set-up EN Naming or renaming channels The Select PR line is selected. Displa y the number of the channel whose name y ou want to change using the PR+/PR- buttons. The rele vant channel appears. Select the PR name option and press the button to place the cursor on the first character .
8 Chapter 3 Oper a tion EN General operation Switching the tele vision set on or to standb y T o s witch the TV set on, press the B button located on the fr ont of the set. Standby mode Press the B button on the r emote contr ol or on the appliance. The TV set remains power ed up , but with low energy consumption.
9 Oper a tion EN O Adjusting the sound Displa y the O VER VIEW menu b y pressing the MENU button. Select the Sound option and press OK to confirm. The SOUND menu appears with the f ollowing options: Equaliser : this option gives access to the gra phic equaliser (see below).
Oper a tion 10 EN Adjusting the pictur e The PICTURE menu can be used to adjust the curr ent settings, to appl y preset settings and define y our own pr eferr ed settings. Displa y the O VER VIEW menu b y pressing the MENU button. Select the Picture option and pr ess OK to confirm.
11 Oper a tion EN Setting the time The TIME menu can be used to set the time on the TV set and program the automatic sleep timer or wak e-up timer functions. Displa y the O VER VIEW menu b y pressing the MENU button. Select the Time option and press OK to confirm.
EN 12 Oper a tion P ar ental contr ol The parental contr ol functions allow y ou to limit your childr en’ s access to the television. Y ou can do this by locking the buttons on your TV set, thereby barring access to certain channels and/or A V programmes (except CMP and V GA).
13 Oper a tion EN T elete xt The T eletext service is available in man y countries under a variety of names (T OP T ext, Fastext, FLOF text, Videotext). It is pro vided as a free service by television br oadcasters. This ser vice pro vides a real w ealth of information, available at an y time, on weather , spor ts results, news, games, etc.
Oper a tion 14 EN Other T elete xt functions Newsflash When a newsflash is detected, MIX is replaced by N in the na vigation bar . Press the blue button to displa y the newsflash. In the case of an update, the T eletext function is enabled and displays the ne w information.
15 EN Chapter 4 Other informa tion Sock ets A V1 peritel socket (input-output) on back of TV set (towar ds the right). Use this to connect up a VCR or camcorder (VHS, S-VHS, 8mm, or Hi 8), a decoder , a satellite receiv er , a D VD pla yer , a videogame console , or any appliance pr oviding a RGB signal.
