EN 8 Initial set-up Initial set-up inv olves sear ching for and storing all the channels you can r eceive. Mak e sure that the television is switched on and f ollow the six steps in turn specified on this page. The first time you switch the tele vision on, the language selection menu a ppears.

Gener al oper ation EN 11 Demo mode This mode is used to highlight the benefits of the Hi Pix setting. Press the DEMO button on the r emote control to switch to Demo mode. The TV set alternates between on and off with the Hi Pix setting. Press the DEMO button as many times as you need to exit Demo mode.
EN 12 Adjusting the sound Displa y the OV ER VIEW menu by pr essing the MENU button. Select the Sound option and press OK to confirm. The SOUND menu appears with the follo wing options: Sound settings : see further below . Sound type : select a sound type from the list using the buttons.

In the Pa r ental control menu the option is replaced by Deactivate parental contr ol .

Press the MENU button to displa y the OV ER VIEW men u. Select the Installation option and confirm by pressing OK .

Ad v anced functions EN 20 T eletext The T eletext ser vice is a vailable in many countries under a variety of names (T OP T ext, Fastext, FLOF text, Videotext). It is provided as a free service by television br oadcasters. This ser vice pr ovides a r eal wealth of information, available at an y time, on weather , sports r esults, news, games, etc.
Ad v anced functions EN 21 Other T eletext functions Newsflash When a newsflash is detected, the icon is r eplaced with a N in the navigator . Select it and press OK to displa y the newsflash. In the case of an update, the T eletext function is enabled and displa ys the new information.

The information it contains has been compiled by y our television based on T eletext information transmitted by the various channels, according to the ser vices they off er .
Ad v anced functions EN 23 Important : - Y ou can select up to 9 pr ogrammes to be stored/r ecorded. - A message is displa yed when the memory is full. Y ou then hav e to delete a programme to be able to store or r ecord another . - A message also appears when the times of some of the pr ogrammes you plan to r ecord or ha ve stored o verlap .
EN 24 Chapter 5 Other informa tion Remo ving the fr ont panel piece The front panel piece is r emovable to allow access to the sock et panel and lamp door (for the lamp replacement, please refer to the separate leaflet). To r emov e the front panel piece, grasp one end of the panel and pull out until the tab pops out of the hole.
Other informa tion EN 25 Audio CINCH sock ets (output) inside the front panel These can be used to connect a stereo amplifier , a hi-fi system or amplified speakers (see below).
