2 Precautions • Safety The TV/D VD’ s components are sensitive to heat.The maxim um ambient temperatur e should not exceed 35° Celsius. Do not cov er the vents at the back or top of the TV/D VD . Lea v e sufficient space ar ound it to allow adequate ventilation.
Switching on 3 EN TV D VD More info Follo w the instructions on this page on how to s witch on your TV/D VD set and the remote control before going on to the channel set-up procedur e described on page 6. 1 Install two LR06 or AA batteries in the remote control (see belo w).

5 EN TV D VD Remote control : other equipment The remote control supplied with your TV/D VD may vary depending on the model you have chosen. Same remote contr ols can be used for other equipment, such as video recorders , D VD play ers , satellite receiv er s or Hi-fi systems .
Initial set-up 6 The initial set-up consists in carr ying out all the necessar y settings to search and store all the channels you can r eceiv e in your ar ea. Make sure that the TV/D VD is switched on and follo w steps 1 to 6 on this page . When you first switch the TV/D VD on, the language selection menu appears .
7 EN TV D VD Manual set-up The information pro vided on this page is useful if you find that some channels have not been stored during the initial set-up or automatic update processes.
8 General operation This page describe the basic features of your TV/D VD with LCD screen. Switching the TV/D VD set on and off T o switch the TV/D VD set on, pr ess the B button on the ke yboard. When the set is on, the indicator on the front is green.

14 DVD menus This page sho ws you the different menus av ailable in D VD mode . If the TV/DVD set is in stand-b y mode, switch it on b y pressing the PLA Y button of the remote contr ol. If the TV/DVD set is in TV mode, press the tv/dvd button of the r emote control or k eyboar d.
15 EN TV D VD This page only describes the remote contr ol’s D VD functions. Refer to page 4 for a description of the TV functions and page 5 for a description of ho w to use the remote control with other equipment. The ke ypad buttons located on the front of the TV/DVD hav e similar functions to those on the remote control.
16 Playback – types of discs Sev er al playback modes are available.This page deals with simple playback mode. For the other playback modes, see the next page.This page also contains information about the various disc types accepted b y the play er .
17 EN TV D VD Playback modes T o access the various playback modes , select the PLA Y MODE menu using the / buttons , and press ok to confirm. Use the or button to select a mode, and press ok to confirm. 1 Standard Pla y is for normal disc pla yback. 2 Random Pla y mode activates a random pla yback.
18 Locking your DVD player This function allo ws you to control access to discs with rating limits. Select the Lock option in the main menu and pr ess ok to confirm.The LOCK menu appears with the follo wing options: 1 T o activate the play er lock , you m ust enter a password.
19 EN TV DV D Display and Sound The DISPLA Y menu enables you to choose the image format and the Info displays. The Digital output line enables you to choose the type of sound assigned to the digital output.
20 Language selection During the initial installation (page 6), the language you choose during the first step has automatically been selected for the D VD par t. Nonetheless , you may change the language for the player menus, and choose the languages you pr efer for dialogues, subtitles and disc menus .
21 EN TV D VD Info Menus The Info menu can be used to access information on a disc being play ed, as well as other par ticuliar functions. This page describes the direct access and repeat play functions. T o display all the inf ormation, press the PLA Y button to start pla yback and press the info (y ello w) button on the remote contr ol.
22 Info Menus Star t reading a disc with the PLA Y button, then press the info (yello w) button of the remote contr ol. Markers (D VD and Audio CD) The player can store up to 5 locations on the disc, as long as the disc remains in the player (and if the TV/D VD set has not been switched off using the On/Off switch).
