5 Getting started Insert a SIM card: Keep all miniatur e SIM card s out o f small children‟s reach. The SIM card and its contacts can easily be damaged by scra tches or bend ing, so be careful when handling, inserting or re m ovin g the card.
6 Getting started Insert a SIM card : Slide the SIM card carefully in t o the SIM card slot Make sure that the gold-coloured c onnector s on the Card are facing downw ards and that the bevelled corner is on the right. Insert the batte ry : Battery contact s must be lying on the go lden contacts of the mobile phone .
7 Getting started Insert the batt ery : Attach the ba ttery cover on to the mobile phon e again. Slide the cover into the dev ice again. Keypad lock: The keypad loc k prevents key s from being pressed accidentally.
8 Getting started Charging the batt ery : Please note: Cha rge the ba ttery for at least 10 hours be fore first u se the phon e. Put the mains plug in to a mains socket. Put the recharger cable connector into the jack at the right side of the mobile phone .
9 Getting started Display modes: The indicators de scribed below are show n when the phone is ready for use and no c har acters have been keyed in by the user . The scree n is called „standby mode‟. 1. Shows the signal int ensity o f the c ellular networ k at your current location.

14 Call function Making a call: 1. Key in the phone nu m ber includin g the area code. T o make in ternational phone calls: A dd a "+" by pressing twice, and add the country (or region) code in front of the are a code (delete the leading 0 if ne cessary) .
15 Call function 3. When the new call has bee n answere d, add it to the confere nce call by pre ssing Options and selecting Build C onference . Making a confe rence call : 1. To add another new participan t to the call, repeat steps 1 to 3. 2. To end the con ference call, pre ss Release all.
16 Call function Redialling: To redial one o f the last 20 phone numbers you have called or a ttempted to call: Press in standby mode, scroll w ith or to the phone nu m ber or na me you w ant, and press Option and selec t call. Speed dialling: Press Conta c ts in the Main M enu and select Speed dials .
17 Contacts Name and Nu mber: You can save na mes and phone numbers in the phone´s memory (in ternal phone book) and in the SIM card´s me m ory (SIM phone bo ok). The internal phone book can store up to 300 name s. To access the conta cts, press in standby mode, or in main m enu Cont acts .
18 Contacts Option: You can also u s e the follow ing options : New: To save names and pho ne number s in the contacts. Edit: To edit na m es and phone numbers in the contacts. Copy: To copy na m es and pho ne number s all at once from the phone´ s memory to the SIM card´s memory, or vice versa.
19 Menu function Menu: You can use the key feature s in the menus in the following w a ys: By scrolling: Press in standby mode. Press or to scroll to the main menu you want, and pre ss Select to enter it. Press Back to exit a main menu . If the menu contain s submenus, scroll to the one you wa nt and press Select to en t er it.

21 SMS SMS: You can wr ite and send multi-part text messages (netwo rk service). Invoicing is based upon how many ordinary messages are ne eded for any multi- part message . If you use spe c ial (Unicode ) character s , more part s may be needed for t he mes sage than otherw is e.
22 SMS Write a SMS: To switch betw een upper and lower case, pre s s indicated with: Ke y in the me ssage. The nu mber of characters and the current part nu mbers are show n on the top right of the display. When the mes sage is comp lete, pre ss Option , select Send , key in the recipien t‟s phone number, and press Select .
23 SMS Reading a SMS : When you have re ceived text messages in standby mode, the nu mber of new messages as w ell as an are shown on the display. Press Select to view the messages right away. To view the messages later, pre ss Back . Go to the Inbox menu wh en you w ant to read the message s.
24 SMS Delete a SMS: In standby mode , press , select SMS and Delete . To delete all the re ad message s in a folder , scroll to the folder and select Delete all and press Select . Then press Select w hen Delete ? is displayed. Templates: You can view or edit the pre set me ssages (‟templates‟) that you can use for w rit ing a message.
25 SMS SMS Settings : St atus rep ort: To request the network to send de livery repo rts on your message s (netw ork service). Storage position : Select the preferr ed storage a s you like. Memory st atus: To check how m any SMS are alrea dy saved and how many can still be saved in each phone.
26 Calls Calls: The phone regis ters the phone nu m bers o f missed, received and dialled calls, and the appr oximate length of your calls. When you pre ss Option in the Dia ll ed, Missed , Received c.
27 Settings Sound & A lert: You can also u s e the follow ing settings: Ringing tone, Ring ing volume , Alert style, A larm tone, A larm v olume, SMS alert tone , SMS volume, Key volum e, V ibrating aler t, Power on volume, Power off volum e. SMS alert tone : Sets the tone you hear w hen you receive a text message.
28 Settings Date & T ime display: The time is show n on the top of the display w hen the phone is in standby mode. Input settings : See “Input sett ings” on page 22. Em ergency Call: The emergency function is a simple function w hich can save lives at the deciding m omen t.
29 Settings Emergency : Press the e mergency button on th e back of the mobile phone for 3 s econds. If you want to stop or cancel the e mergency call, pres s for 3 seconds. Functionality : By pressing the e m ergency button, the emergency numbers you hav e previously sav ed will be automatically dia lled in the given s equence.
30 Settings Note: To stop the e mergency call, keep pressed for 3 seconds. The emergency call should no t end up unheard on a mobile- or voice m ail box . To m ake this sure the calling t ime is limited f or t wo minutes. Afte r that the nex t number w ill be called automatically.
31 Settings Emergency Button: You can swit ch on/off the emergency call bu tton in the menu Setting s , Emergency , Em ergency button settings . If the emer gency button is pressed w hen switched off, no e mergency call will be made. Howeve r, you can dial 112 on t he nu merical keypad.
32 Settings Language: To select the lang uage for the di s play texts. Display : Backlight: Select 10, 20 or 30 secon ds to set the ligh ts on after a key press. Wallpaper: The Wallpaper i s shown on the display background when the phone is in standby mode.
33 Settings Network: Call divert: To divert your in c oming cal ls to your voice mailbox or some other pho ne number (netw o rk service). Select the divert op tion you want, for ex am ple, select Divert if bus y to divert the calls when you are on a call or w hen you reject a c all.
34 Settings Locks: PIN 1 code req uest : You can set your phone to a s k for the PIN c ode of the SIM card when the pho ne is sw itched on. Some SIM cards do no t allow turning off this fun c tion. Change PIN1 code: You can change the PIN1 code . These codes can include the nu mbers 0 to 9 only .
35 Settings Master reset: To reset so me of the menu se t tings to the ir original values. Select Setting s and Master reset . Key in the security code (The pre set code i s “0000” ) and press Select . The names and phon e number s saved in the pho ne book are not deleted .
36 A larm & Tools A larm clock: You can set the alar m to sound at the time you want just once, or repeatedly, for ex am ple every working da y. When alarm soun ds, you can s top the alar m by pressing Back . If you pr ess Snooze , the alarm stops and ring s again in five mi nutes.
37 A larm & Tools Function: The keys 1 to 0 insert a d igit. “#” i nserts a de cimal point. Press or for "+", "-", "x " and "/". To get the result , press Result . Pr ess and hold Clear to clear the di s play for a new calculation.
38 Battery Charging and Disc harging: Your phone is po wered by a rechargea ble battery. Note that a new b attery's full performan ce is achieved onl y after two or three c omplete charge and discharge cycles! The battery can be charged and discharged hundr eds of times but it will ev entually wear out.
39 Phone Care and Maintenance : Your phone i s a product of sup erior de sign and craftsmanship and s hould be treate d with care. The suggestion s below w ill help y ou t o fulfil any warranty ob ligations and to enjoy this product for many years. Keep the phon e and all its par t s an d accessories ou t of the rea ch of sm all children .
40 Phone Use only the supplied or an app roved replacement anten na. Unautho rised antenna s, modifications or attach ments coul d damage the phone and may violate regulation s governing radio devices. All of the above suggestions apply equally to your phone, battery, charger or any ac cessory.
