9 Introduction Notes on Discs On handling discs Do not touch the pla yback side of the disc. Do not attach paper or tape to discs. On cleaning discs Fingerpr ints and dust on the disc cause picture and sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cloth.

26 Basic pla yback Press the PO WER button. The D VD video pla yer turns on. The ON/ST ANDBY indicator on the pla yer turns green. When the D VD video player is turned on for the first time, an on-screen display will appear to pro vide initial settings.

37 Advanced pla yback Zooming a Picture Y ou can magnify areas within a picture. Zooming a picture Press ZOOM during normal, slow or still playbac k. The D VD video pla yer enters the zoom pla ybac k mode and displa ys the icon.

41 Advanced pla yback Selecting Subtitles Y ou can displa y subtitles on the TV screen and select a subtitle language from those included on the D VD video disc. Selecting a subtitle language Press SUBTITLE during playbac k. The current subtitle setting is displa yed.
42 Advanced pla yback Press A UDIO while the audio setting is display ed on the TV screen. Each time you press the A UDIO button, the audio settings included on the D VD video disc change. T o turn off the audio setting display , press the A UDIO button.
