SS-SVX09A-EN 35 Installation Liquid Line Piping Liquid line siz es are based on their abil ity to provid e a minimum of 5 degrees F (2.7ºC) of sub- cooling at the expansion valve throughout the unit’ s operating system. Increasing the liqui d line size does not increase the availab le sub-cooling.
36 SS-SVX09A-EN Installation Ev apor ator Piping 1 . Install the TXV directly to the unit liquid connectio n. 2. Locate the TXV bu lb midway be tween the 90 degrees bends on top of th e suction line as illustrated in Figure 19 and Figure 20 .
SS-SVX09A-EN 37 Installation Hot Gas Bypass for Commer cial Comf ort-Cooling Applications Hot gas bypass is not recommended for use on RA UC units. Frostat™ is th e preferred method of protecting the evaporator from fr eez e-up. It turns off compressor s wh en the coil frosting is sensed.

86 SS-SVX09A-EN Syst em Star t-Up Low Ambien t Dampers Low Ambient Dampers are available as a factory inst alled option or can be field-installed. Dampers are used to extend the operation of these units fr om the standard operatio nal temperatures to a minimum of 0ºF without hot g as bypass or 1 0ºF with hot gas bypass.
SS-SVX09A-EN 87 Syst em Star t-Up Low Ambien t Ther mostats In addition to the low ambient dampers on 25, 30 , 50 & 60 T on units, a low am bient thermostat is installed to furt her restrict the airflow across the condenser by cycling the 2B3 co ndenser fan on 25 & 30 T on units plus 2B6 on 50 & 60 T on un its.
