5 R T -PRC0 07 -EN T rane 3-D ® Scr oll Compressor Simple Design with 70% Few er P arts Fewer par ts than an equal capacity reciprocating compressor means significant reliability and ef ficiency benefits. The single orbiting scroll eliminates the need for pistons, connecting rods, wrist pins and valves.
RT -PRC0 07 -EN 6 F eatures and Benef its Micr o Controls The Micro provides unit control for heating, cooling and ventilating utilizing input from sensors that measure outdoor and indoor temperature. Quality and Reliability are enhanced through the use of time-tested micro- processor controls and logic.
7 R T -PRC0 07 -EN F eatures and Benef its Ex cellent P art-Load Ef ficiency The Scroll compressor’s unique design allows it to be applied in a passive parallel manifolded piping sc heme, something that a “recip” just doesn’t do very well.
RT -PRC0 07 -EN 8 F eatures and Benef its Easy to Service Because today’s owners are very cost- conscious when it comes to service and maintenance, the T rane V oyager w as designed with direct input from service contractors.
9 R T -PRC0 07 -EN F eatures and Benef its Va r i T r a c T rane’s changeo ver V A V S ystem for light commercial applications is also available. Coupled with V oyager Commercial, it pro vides the latest in tec hnological advances for comfor t management systems and can allow thermostat control in every z one served by V ariT rac™.
RT -PRC0 07 -EN 10 Application Considerations Exhaust Air Options When is it necessary to provide building exhaust? Whenever an outdoor air economiz er is used, a building generally requires an exhaust system. The purpose of the exhaust system is to exhaust the proper amount of air to prevent over or under - pressurization of the building.
11 RT -PRC0 07 -EN 4 If several units are to be placed on one span, they should be staggered to reduce deflection o ver that span. It is impossible to totally quantify the ef fect of building structure on sound transmission, since this depends on the response of the roof and building members to the sound and vibration of the unit components.
RT -PRC0 07 -EN 12 S election P rocedure A psyc hrometric c har t can be used to more accurately determine the mixture temperature to the evaporator coil. Step 4 — Determine total required unit cooling capacity: Required capacity = total peak load + O .
13 RT -PRC0 07 -EN S election P rocedure The supply air fan motor selected in the previous cooling capacity determination example w as 7 .27 bhp with 652 rpm. Thus, the supply fan motor selected is 7 .5 hp. T o select the dri ve, enter T able PD-15 for a 30-ton unit.
