8 System Components Your AcerPower computer system is made up of several components. These include the computer itself, the monito r, keyboard, and speaker set. 12 Setting up your system Arranging a comfortable work are a Working safely begins with the arrangement of your work space and the proper use of equ ipment. For this reason, it is very impo rtant to take time a nd think about how yo u are going to a rrange yo ur work area .
13 Positioning your monitor Place you r monitor at a comfo rtable view ing distance, usually 50 to 60 centimeters away. Adjust the display in such a way that the top of the screen is at o r slightly below eye lev el. Positioning your keyboard The loc ation of the key board is a very importan t factor to yo ur posture.
14 Connecting peri pherals Setting up your computer is easy. For the most part, you o nly have fou r things to connect: the mouse, the keyboard, the monitor, and th e power ca ble. Mouse Plug the mouse cable into the the USB port (black port) or the PS/2 mo use port (green po rt) located on the rear pane l of your computer.
15 Plug the po wer cable into the power c able socket loc ated on the rear panel of y our computer. T hen plug the other end of the powe r cable into a power outlet.
