Assembly Handle Place the shif t lever in th e For ward - 6 po sition 1 . Remove the lower p lastic w ing nut and c arriag e bolt f rom 2. each side of th e uppe r handle; the n raise the up per han dle assembl y until it snaps over the lower ha ndle.
Place chute assembl y onto chute base and s ecure chute 2. control assemb ly to chute supp or t bracket w ith clevis p in and cot ter pin removed e arlier. See See Fig. 3 -3. Finish secur ing chute control asse mbly to chute supp or t 3. bracket wi th wing nut an d hex sc rew removed ear lier .
Chute Cl ean-Out T ool The chute cl ean- o ut tool is f astene d to the top of the au ger housing wi th a mounting clip an d a cable t ie at the fac tor y .
Checking Oil Lev el CAUTION: T he eng ine is shipp ed with o il in the engine. Y ou must , however , check th e oil level pri or to oper ating the snow thrower. Running the engin e with insuf f i cient oil can c ause ser ious engin e damage an d void the engin e warr anty.

Starting the Engine W ARNI NG! Al ways keep hands an d feet cl ear of moving p ar ts. D o not use a p ressurize d star ti ng f luid. Vapor s are f lammabl e. NOTE: Allow th e engine to war m up for a few mi nutes af ter star ti ng. Th e engine w ill not develo p full p ower until it reaches oper ating tempe ratures .

NOTE: Wh en lubri cating the h ex shaf t , be car eful no t to get any oil on the aluminum dr ive plate or the ru bber f ric tion whe el. Doi ng so will hin der the snow thrower ’s drive sys tem. Wip e of f any excess or spill ed oil. Auger S haf t At least once a seas on, rem ove the shear pins f rom the aug er shaf t.
Drive Con trol When th e drive control is re lease d and in the dise ngage d “up” positio n, the cab le shoul d have very lit tl e slack . It shoul d NOT be tight.

Belt Replac ement Auger Belt NOTE: It is not n ecessar y to remove both b elts in o rder to chang e either o ne. If chang ing just on e belt , be cer t ain to check the condition o f the other b elt . Drain th e gasoline f rom the sn ow thrower , or place a pie ce 1.
