Sheet 2 1) Installing the Phone 1-1. Choosing the Best Location T o get the best performance out of your new phone, put it in the best location: Near an AC outlet and a telephone wall jack. • Microwave ovens • Refrigerators • Fluorescent lighting • Dust • Excessive moisture • Other cordless telephones In a centrally-located open area.
Sheet 3 Note: F or optimum battery life, charge all of your handsets completely befor e you connect the telephone cord. The rst time you charge a ne w battery , allow 15 to 20 hours. 1-4. Sheet 4 1-7. Attach the Belt Clip T o attach the belt clip Insert the tabs on the side of the belt clip into the holes on either side of the handset. Press the belt clip down un til it clicks into place . (T ug on the clip to make sure it’ s secure.
Sheet 5 Using the handset menu T o open the handset menu, press and hold [cid/menu] for tw o seconds. The arro w pointer on the left side of the line shows which menu item is currently highlight ed. Use [ / ] t o move the point er up and [ ] to mov e the pointer down.
Sheet 6 Activating Auto T alk (AUT O TALK) With A uto T alk , you can answer the phone just b y picking up the handset from the cradle: y ou don’t hav e to press any k eys. If the handset is already o the cradle, Aut o T alk also lets you answer b y pressing any key on the twelve-key dial pad (instead of just [T ALK/ash] ).
Sheet 7 T o receive a transfer call When a handset receiv es a transfer page, it sounds the distinct paging tone and shows CALL TRANSFERRED in the display .
Sheet 8 5-2. Making a Call from the Caller ID List With the phone in standb y , press [cid/menu] . Use [ / ] or [ ] to nd the Caller ID r ecord you wan t to call. If you need to add or delet e a “1” from the displa yed phone number , press [1] .
Sheet 9 The letters abo ve the number appear in order: pr ess the 2 key once for A, twice for B, and thr ee times for C. Y ou can also enter low er case letters and symbols (see the table below for all the av ailable characters and what keys t o press to ent er them).
Sheet 10 6-7. Chain Dialing If you often hav e to enter a series of digits or some type of code number during a call, you can sav e that code number to a phonebook entry . When your call connects, just use the phonebook speed dial to transmit the saved c ode number .
Sheet 1 1 Deleting your personal greeting Press [greeting] . While the currently-selected gr eeting is playing , press [ ] . The base deletes the personal greeting and announces “Greeting has been deleted. ” Note: Y ou cannot delete the prer ecorded gr eetings.
