Sheet 2 1) Installing the Phone 1-1. Choosing the Best Location T o get the best performance out of your new phone, put it in the best location: Near an AC outlet and a telephone wall jack. • Microwave ovens • Refrigerators • Fluorescent lighting • Dust • Excessive moisture • Other cordless telephones In a centrally-located open area.

Sheet 4 1-5. Attach the Belt Clip T o attach the belt clip Insert the tabs on the side of the belt clip into the holes on either side of the handset. Press the belt clip down un til it clicks into place . (T ug on the clip to make sure it’ s secure.
Sheet 5 Using the handset menu T o open the handset menu, press and hold [cid/menu] for tw o seconds. The arro w pointer on the left side of the line shows which menu item is currently highlight ed. Use [ / ] t o move the point er up and [ ] to mov e the pointer down.
Sheet 6 3-4. Setting the Ringer T one (RINGER) With the phone in standb y , press and hold [cid/menu] . Press [select/channel] to rota te through the four a vailable ring tones (A, B, C, and D ). As you switch to the next ring tone, the handset sounds a sample of that ringer .
Sheet 7 4-5. Finding the Handset T o locate the handset, pr ess [nd hs] on the base. T he handset will beep for six ty seconds. T o cancel paging, pr ess [nd hs] again, press any key on the handset , or put the handset back in the base. 4-6. Muting the Ringer When the phone is ringing , you can mute the ringer on the base or the handset.
Sheet 8 Use the number keys ( [0] – [9] ) t o enter all thr ee digits of your area c ode. If you mak e a mistake, pr ess [delete] to erase the last digit. When the number is correct, pr ess [selec t/channel] . A conrmation tone sounds . Press [END ] .
Sheet 9 6-2. Finding Phonebook Entries If you kno w the number of the phonebook entry you're looking for: Press and hold the number k ey (0 through 9) assigned to that phonebook entry . The handset displays the name and phone number sa ved for that phonebook en try.
