1.0 Introduction - 1.1 Over view - Thank you for purchasing a Vivicam 3350 digital camera . It can capture digital images , short video - clips (continuous shooting mode), and it can also serve as a PC/Web camera . The V3350 is equipped with 8 MB of memory to store your images and movie clips.

2.0 Install ing the Batter ies - Step 1: Open the battery door by lifting the tab on the door. Step 2: Insert two AAA batteries with the polarity as shown: Step 3: C lose the b attery cover. Warning : Do no t open the battery door when the camera is powered ON.
Notes: 1. Always download your images to your computer soon after you have captured them. Never assume your images will be retained for more than three or four days.
3.0 Installi ng the Software - Install the camera software before connecting the c amera to your computer for the first time. Place the Vivicam 3350 CD ROM into your CD - ROM drive. The CD will run automatically and present this welcome screen: There are five components on the CD ROM: 1.
3.2 PhotoImpression – You may wi sh to install Arcsoft PhotoImpression™. Although it is not required to operate the camera; it is the perfect imaging software for novice and skilled users alike. PhotoImpression is an image editor with tools for enhancing, printing, and getting creative w ith your V3350 digital images.
3.5 User Manual - Click on the “User Manual” button to go to the index of ViviCam 3350 User Manuals. The Vivicam 3350 User Manual is included on the CD ROM in several languages in PDF format. Note that you will need Adobe Reader on your PC to read the User Manual.
4.0 Capturing I mages - Using yo ur new Vivicam 3350 is fun and easy. There are two basic steps to capturing your first image. Step 1: Turn on the camera by pressing the Power Button.
4.2 Capture an Image - In film - photography we say: “Take a Photo.” In digital - photography we say: “Capture an Image.” Capturing an image with the Vivicam 3350 is easy. Step 1: Power on the camera and look through the viewfinder to frame your subject.
4.3 Camera Information Display - Beyond the basics of capturing an image, the Vivicam 3350 has many other features. Turn on the cam era and notice the many icons and symbols on the Information display: As you press the Power/Menu button the display will change in the following order.
4.4 Power - Off the Camera - To turn - off the came ra (immediately) press the menu button once. “ ” will appear in the Information display . Press the shutter button (within five seconds) to turn - off the camera immediately. Note: The camera will automatically power - off aft er twenty seconds of inactivity.
Step 1: Power on camera. Press the Menu button three times until the “ ” icon appears in the display. Step 2: Press and hold the Shutter button. The camera will beep rapidly; once for every frame that is captured. The image count will scroll rapidly.
4.7.2 Delete the Last Image - Step 1: Power on camera. Press the Menu button five times until the “ ” icon appears in th e display. Step 2: Press the Shutter button. The image will be deleted and the image counter will increase by one. (Example: 020 will change to 021.
Lo will appear on the left - hand side of the Information display. Press the shutter button to change to that resolution mode. Notice how the image counter immediately changes. The number of (available) images will increase (by almost four times) when you change from Hi to Lo .
4.10 Light Frequency - When capturing images or movie clips under indoor lighting the image quality will be best if you set the camera to match the frequency of the room - lighting. In g enerally 60Hz frequency is used in United States and Asia . 50Hz is most common in UK, Japan , and Europe.
4.12 Techniques for Capturing the Best Images - The ViviCam 3350 can take good images. There are a few tips for getting th e best possible images from your camera. 1. Use good lighting. The ViviCam 3350 works best with adequate lighting. Since it has no flash your subject must be adequately illuminated.
5.0 Down l oad Images to your Computer Note: Before connecting y our ViviCam 3350 to your PC for the first time you must first install the Twain driver first (see section 3.1). After the driver software has been installed, your still images and movie clips can be transferred to your PC using the USB cable .
5.1 Transfer Images to your PC - To transfer images to your PC connect the camera to your PC. Double click on the desktop camera icon: This screen (called the Graphical User Interface, or GUI ) will appear: Step 1: Click on the “Down Load” button.
Step 2: Select the images you wish to transfer to your PC. You may download some, or all, of the images in the camera. You may select those images that are of interest to you by clicking on any thumbnail image to select it. Selected images will be highlighted with a red border around the thumbnail image.
5.1.1 Saving your Images to Disk - When you click on “Save to Disk” you will b e presented with this dialog box: o Select or create a folder to save your images (Save in…desired folder) o Give your images a name prefix in the “File Name” field (perhaps….
5.2 Transferring Images to a Twain - aware application – You may call the Vivicam 3350 GUI from any Twain - aw are application such as PhotoImpression using the acquire function. There is an advantage to doing this. Instead of saving your images directly to disk you may transfer your images to an image - editing program.
Step 3: Click on the Acquire button . (The button with the image of a scanner and digital camera). The ViviCam 3350 GUI will appear. Use the ViviCam 3350 GUI as described in Section 5.1 with one exception. Because the ViviCam 3350 GUI has been called from a Twain application, a fourth y ellow button will appear in the GUI.
5.2.2 Transferring your Images to FunHouse – To transfer your image s from the ViviCam 3350 to FunHouse follow these steps: Step 1: Start FunHouse. Select a template. Step 2: Click on “Get Photo”. Step 3: Click on the “Acquire” button. The Twain source selection dialog box will appear.
6.0 PC /Web Camera Video Function 6.1 Using the ViviCam 3350 in Video Mode – P C users may u se their Vivicam 3350 as a PC/Web cam. Note that the ViviCam 3350 is a dual mode camera. It is both a digital - still camera and a PC video camera. In the video mode the ViviCam 3350 is known as the “Dual - Mode DSC(2770)” camera.
