2 Introducti on Thank you for purchasing this cam era. Everythi ng you need to tak e quality digital photos and vide os is in c luded w ith your cam er a. V ivi ta r m akes capturing those speci al m o m ent s as easy as possible. Please read this m anual carefu lly first in order to get the m ost out of your digita l camera.

4 Initial Camera Setu p Inst alling the Batteries Inst alling the Memory Card Charger Bat te ry Before Use: Insert the battery (as shown above). Pow er Off the cam era. Connect th e cam e ra w ith the supplied USB cable either to the AC Charger o r to the com pute r .
5 W hen powering the cam er a ON for the first tim e the ca m era wil l take you through the initia l camera setup. Powering the Camera ON 1) Make sure th e c harged lithium batter y has b een inserted properly into your digita l cam e ra. T o charg e the lithium batter y: Insert the battery into the cam era.
6 Setting the Date an d T i me The ne x t ste p in th e initial ca m era se tu p is to set the date and t i m e o n the cam era. Set the Date a nd T ime as Desir ed and press t he SET butt on to confirm the se lection and move to the next part of the cam era se tup.
7 Main Camer a Modes Y our ca m era h as different modes for the various cam era fu nctions. Y ou can switch m odes by p ressing the M ODE button on your cam er a after the cam era has b een powered ON. Photo Capt u re Mode Use thi s mode to captur e pictures with your cam era.

10 Powering ON/ OFF Your D igital Cam era Make sure the batteries have been inserted pr operly into your d igi t al camera. If your ca m era com es with a r echargeab le lithium battery , make sur e it is fully charged before the first use. Make sure an SD card ha s b een inserted into your camera.
11 T o change th e active cam era m od e, make sure the cam er a is pow ered ON a nd press the MODE button on the back of the cam e ra. W hen in Photo Capture Mode, this icon will display on the top -.
12 Photo Ca pture Mode The Photo Capture m od e allows you to capture pictures with your d i gita l cam e ra. T akin g a Picture 1) Tu rn on your digita l cam er a. The camera autom ati ca lly op e ns to the Photo Capture Mode. 2) The ca m era icon w ill appear on the top lef t corner of the L CD.

14 Flash Options There are several Flash opt io ns availab l e on your cam e ra. The options appear on the Photo Capture Mode L CD screen in sequence. T o change th e Flash m ode, p ress the UP Qui ck Function button until you arrive at your des ired settings.

16 Scene Menu The Scene M enu allows you to choose scene settings that allow your cam er a to adapt properly t o your current environment. NOT E: W hen selecting the HIGH SENS IT IVITY Option, by default the ca m era switches o f f the FLASH autom ati cally ( if it‟s ON) t o optim ize th e pi c ture quality .

19 Face Detect Menu The Face Detect feature w he n set to „On‟ allow s th e camera to use a subject‟ s fa ce as the basis for balan c ing the othe r colors and focus i n the cam er a ‟ s di sp lay . This feature is meant to ensure that the color and foc us of your pictures w ill b e co ns isten t l y sharp and high- quality .
20 Smile Capture M enu The Sm il e Capture feature when set to „On‟ a llows the ca m era to autom ati ca lly take a p icture w hen i t detects t hat a subject in the picture is smiling. Note: T o proper l y use the Sm i le Capture feature , please ensure the fo ll owing: Macro mode off – Ensure th a t the Macro is s e t to „Off‟.
21 Macro Menu With the Macro feature y ou can capture im ages at close ra n ge (30 ~ 45 cm ). T o enable the M acro m ode , sele ct „On‟ . The flower ico n will appear on the LCD and i ndicates that the Macro m ode is ON . T o re turn to the norm al m ode an d disable the Macro mode, sel ect „Off‟ .

26 Language Menu Y ou can se lect your cam era ‟ s l anguage sett i ng by selecting the desired language from the Language m enu. 1) Press the SET button to open the m enus for the current m ode. 2) Press the LEFT or RI GHT dir ect ion control bu tto ns to scro ll and select the Language m enu .

28 Auto Power Of f Menu Y ou can u se the Auto Pow e r Off fe atu r e in order to conserve you cam era‟s battery life. The desi g nated time represent s w hen your cam er a w i ll a ut om a ticall y power off.

30 6) If you wo uld li ke to proceed w ith the reset, select „Y es‟ and press the SE T b utt on to confirm . The settings will be reset. Y ou wil l autom a tically exit the m e nu and return to the previous m ode with the d igital cam era settings set to the Factory Default Settings.
31 Thumbnail V iew Easily navigate and select the im age yo u w ish t o view by usi ng the Thumbnail V ie w . The images on your camera w ill be d i splayed in a 3 X 3 m atri x where you can use the d irection buttons to scroll and select im ages from the thu m b nail s.
32 Photo Pla y back M ode Menus The following are the m enus that a pp ear in your cam era ‟ s Photo Pl ayback Mode: Delet e M enu W hile i n the Playback Mode, you can de l ete pictures from yo ur cam er a usin g the De lete m enu. 1) V i ew the photo you would like to delete.
33 A bl ank „No Files Ex i st‟ scre en w ill appear . Press the MODE butto n to exit the „No Files E x ist‟ screen and return to Photo Capture m ode . Remember : Al l im ages will be de l eted ex cept i m ages t hat are Protected/Locked. T o del e te a locked image, fir st unlock the image, then select delete.
34 Rotate Menu Use thi s menu to rotate the pictures that you‟v e taken with your camera. 1) Press the SET bu tton to open the m enus for the current m ode. 2) Press the L E FT or RIGHT direction control bu ttons to scroll and select the Rot ate m enu.

36 Slide Show Menu Yo u ca n view a Slide Show of all the p i ctures t aken wi th your cam era b y pressing the UP Qu ick Function button while in Playback m o de. The Slide Show menu allows you to set the i nterva l length of tim e that ea ch p icture will display during the slide show .
37 Video Cap tu re Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to captur e vi d eos with your digita l cam era. W hen the cam er a is fir st powered ON, the cam er a w i ll be i n P hoto Capture Mode. Press the MODE button once to access the V i deo Capture M ode .

48 The op t ion s i n the Frequency m enu r epresent the frequency of the electrical current in flu o rescent lighting sources in your locale. If your cam era i s set to a frequency that does not m atch your countr y‟ s electric current, you m ay see flickeri ng or w aves on the im ag es t aken by your camera.
49 Select “No” to exit without form a tting. Select “Y es” and press the SET button to beg in . The mem o ry card will be com ple te ly fo rm atted . Firmw a re (Factory Defau l t Settings) Menu Use thi s menu to vi ew t he Firm w are ver sion on your cam e ra or to reset your cam era se tting s to the Fa ct o ry Defau l t Settings.
50 W hen you first turn on the cam era, the cam er a w ill be in Photo Capture m od e by defau lt . Pr ess the MODE button twice t o op en the Playback Mode. The Playback Mo de w ill allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve a lr e ady t a ken w ith you cam era.

52 W hile i n the Playback m o de, you can delete videos from your camera through the delete m enu. 1) V i ew the image you w oul d like to delete. 2) Press the SET b utt on to open the m enu s for the current m ode . 3) Press the L E FT or RIGHT direction control bu ttons to scroll and select the Delete m en u.
53 Protect/Lock M enu Pictur es a nd V ide os t aken w i th your cam era can b e protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being m ade to the f iles. 1) Pr ess th e SE T bu tt o n to open t he m enus for t he current m ode . 2) Press the L E FT or RIGHT direction control bu ttons to scroll and select the Protect/Lock m enu .
54 Installing the Software Y ou must be connected to the internet to i nst all and run th e Viv itar Experience Image Man ager so f tware. 1) Insert the insta llation CD i nto your CD- RO M dri ve. T he insta l lation screen should autom ati cally open.
55 “How to transfer photos and videos from my cam era to m y co m puter ” button for instructions. 5) If you have internet acc ess, the “Choose your language” w in dow opens, choose your lan g uage and click “Next” to open the nex t window .
56 Getting P hotos and Vi deos from your Camera to Yo ur Computer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cab le d uring transfer . Do i ng so w ill cancel the transfer of any files on their way to your computer . 1) Select the “Get Images” button from the Main m enu.
