2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this camera. Every thing you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your camera. Viv itar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of y our digital camera.

5 W hen p owering the camera ON for the first time the camera will take you through the INITIAL CAMERA SETUP . Powering the Came ra ON 1) Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital camera. Use 2x AA (1.5v) batteries (not included) .
6 Setting the Dat e and Time The next step in the initial camera setup is to set the date and time o n the camera. Set the Dat e and Tim e as Desir ed and press t he SET but ton to co nfirm the selection an d mov e to the next part of the ca mera setup.
7 Main Camera Modes Y our camera has different modes for the v arious camera functions. Y ou can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your camera after the camera has been powered ON. Photo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture pictures with your camera.

10 Powering the Cam era On/Off Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digit al camera. If your camera comes with a rechargeable lithium battery , make sure it is fully charged before the first use. Powering the came ra ON Press the Power button to turn your camera ON.

12 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with your digital camera. T aking a Picture 1) W hile in Photo Capture mode, use the LCD display on the back of the camera to direct t he camera at the scene you would like to capture.
13 Photo Capture M ode Quick Functi on Buttons Y our digital camera has a four-directional pad that functions as Quick Function buttons: Quick Function Button Function Lef t Scene Selection – Opens .
14 Flash Options There are several Flash options available on y our camera. The options appear on the Photo Capture Mode LCD screen in sequence. T o change the Flash mode, press the UP Quick Function button until y ou arrive at your desired settings. NOTE : The Macro m ode must be turned OFF when you want to use the Flash.
15 Macro Sw itch / Y our camera contains a Macro Switch that all ows you to manually enable or disable the Macro mode on your camera. While using the Macro mode, you can capture images at close range (30 ~ 45 cm). T o turn the Macro mode ON, slide the Macro Switch up on the side of your camera to the flower icon .

17 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu allows y ou to choose scene se ttings that allow your camera t o adapt properly to your current environment. NOTE: When selecting the HIGH SENSITIVITY Option, by defaul t the camera switches of f the FLASH automatically (if it‟ s ON) to optimiz e the picture quality .
18 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen.
19 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Press the SET button to select and save the desired option. 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item . 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item.
20 Macro mode off - Fac e Detect will not work if the camera is in Macro mode. Push the Macro Switch on the side of the camera for the mount ain icon to appear on the LCD.
21 Macro Switch on the side of the camera for the m ountain icon to appear on the LCD. Anti-Shake - Ensure that th e Anti- Shake option is set to „ On‟ . The Anti - Shake option is „On‟ b y default when you start using your cam era and assists you in properly focusing the image.

24 W hen t he environment has more light than is needed, red uce the exposure setting (by using the ne gative - count) to reduce the amount of light allowed into the lens by your camera.
25 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the LCD screen 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟ s default factory settings. Metering Menu The Metering setting will affect how your camera focuses when capturing an image.
26 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the curr ent mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Language menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Press the SET button to select and save the desired option.
27 T o Set the Date and T ime: 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIG HT direction control buttons t o scroll and sel ect the Date/T ime menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to highlight the “Date Setup” menu option, then press the SET button to select the option.
28 Auto Power Off Menu Y ou can use the Auto Power Of f feature i n order to conserv e you camera‟s battery life. The designated time represents when your camera wil l automatically power off.
29 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟ s default factory settings.
30 6) If you would l ike to proceed with the reset , select „Y es‟ and press the SET button to confirm. The settings will be reset. Y ou will automatically exit the menu and ret urn to the previous mode w ith the digital c amera settings set to the Factory Default Settings.
31 Thumbnail View Easily navigate and select the image you wish to view by using the Thumbnail V iew . The images on your camera will be displayed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can use the direction buttons to scroll and select images from the thu mbnails.
32 Photo Pla yback Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟ s Pho to Play back Mode: Delete Menu W hile in the Play back Mode, you can delete pictures from y our camera through the Delete menu. 1) View the photo you would like to delete.
33 All of your images will be permanently deleted. A blank „No Files Exist‟ screen will appear . Press the MODE button to exit the „No Files Exist‟ screen and return to Photo Capture mode. Remember : All images will be deleted except images that are Protected/Locked.
34 Rotate Menu Use this menu to rotate the pict ures that you‟ve t aken with your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the c urrent mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Rotate menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
35 Protect/Lock Menu Pictures and Videos ta ken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
36 Slide Show Menu Y ou can view a slide show of all the pictures taken with your camera by pressing the UP Quick Function button while in Playback mode. The Slide Show menu allows you to set the interval length of t ime that each picture will display during the slideshow .
37 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mo de allows you to capture videos with y our digital camera. W hen the camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Photo Captu re Mode.

41 Image Quality Menu The Image Quality menu allows you to select the de sired quality level of the image s t aken by your camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality level will also take up more memory on your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.

Color Effect M enu Y ou can choose to add a color ef fect to the images taken with y our camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mo de.
43 Light Exposure Menu The Light Exposure setting helps y ou co ntrol the amount of light that enters your camera‟s lens. This setting should be adjusted when the environment is lighter or darker than normal.

45 Language Menu Y ou can select your camera‟s language setti ng by selecting the desired language from the Language menu. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Language menu.

47 Frequency Menu The options in the Frequency menu represent the frequency of the electrical current in fluorescent lighting sources in your locale. If your camera is set to a frequency tha t does not match your country‟ s electric current, you may see f lickering or waves on the images t aken by your camera.
48 5) T o proceed with the format, select “Y es” and press the SET button. Y ou will be asked to confirm the formatting of the memory card. Select “No” to exit without formatting. Select “Y es” and press the SET button to begin. The memory card will be completely formatted.
49 Video Play back M ode W hen y ou first turn on the camera, the camera will be in Photo Capture mode by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Playback Mod e. T he Playback Mode will allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve already taken with y ou camera.

51 Delete Menu W hile in the Playback mode, you can delete videos from your camera u sing the delete menu. 1) View the image you would like to delete. 2) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode . 3) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.

53 Installing the Soft ware Y ou must be connected to the internet to inst all a nd run the Vivit ar Experience Image Manager sof tware. 1) Insert the installation CD into y our CD-ROM drive. The installation sc reen should automatically open. 2) On PC: The V ivit ar Experience Image Manager Inst aller window appears.
54 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next w indow . 6) Select your camera model from the list and click “N ext” to ope n the next window . 7) Click “Next” to confirm y our camera model selection and to install the application.
55 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your C omputer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer . Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their w ay to your computer . 1) Select the “Get I m ages” button from the Main menu.

57 Transfer media f rom my camera to my computer manually (Using Macintosh) 1) Use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your camera to your c omputer . 2) MSDC appears on the LCD. 3) The camera‟s device icon appears on the desktop. 4) Click on the device icon and open the DCIM folder and the folder ins ide to view the media files.
