5 CONTR OL V AL VE FUNCTIONS This glass filled No r yl fully automatic control v al v e is designed as the primar y control center to direct and regulate all cycles of a water softener .
INST ALLA TION Conduct a visual check of all equipment f or any damage that ma y hav e occurred dur ing shipment. Note: If there is obvious damage to an y equipment, it should be noted on the carrier’ s Bill Of Lading. Open and inspect the contents of all closed crates, cartons, etc.

8 INST ALLA TION STEP 4: Move brine tank next to softener and connect brine draw line to v alue . With brine tank next to the soft- ener tank connect the brine dra wline to v alv e body . Control v alves that use a regen- erant, come equipped with a 3/8" refill flow control assemb ly .
9 INST ALLA TION STEP 5: Connect the Drain Line If the drain line is a 5/8" fle xible poly tube, slide the n ut onto the poly tub e , then place the poly tube inse r t into the end of the poly tube and tighten the nut on to the 3/4" drain line fit- ting.
10 CONTR OL PR OGRAMMING DIR/TIME CLOCK OPTIONS F or DIR Softeners, there are tw o options f or setting the Gallons Capacity . The Gallons Capacity is automatically calculated if set to A UT O . Reser ve Capacity , is automatically estimated based on water usage if A UT O is used.
CONTR OL PR OGRAMMING INST ALLER ( I ) Displa ys/Settings STEP 1 I – Press NEXT and arrow up simulta- neously f or 3 seconds. STEP 2 I – Hardness: Set the amount of hard- ness in grains of hardness as calcium carbonate per gallon using, arrow do wn or arrow up b ut- tons.
PR OGRAMMING (NO TE) SANITIZING THE SYSTEM 12 SET TIME OF D A Y The user can also set the time of da y . Time of day should only need to be set after e xtended pow er outages or when da y- light savings time begins or ends.
13 CONTENTS DRIVE CAP ASSEMBL Y Main Piston and Regenerant Piston The drive gears turn the main gear of the dr ive cap assemb ly , which mov es the piston. The screw-driv en, horizontally mov- ing piston stops at specific positions to direct the flow of w ater to backw ash, regenerate , rinse or refill.
14 CONTENTS The drain line flow control can be installed in the standard 1/4" drain line elbow , which accommodates 5/8" poly tube or 3/4" NPT drain line connections. The optional nut and poly tube inser t for the 3/4" dr ain line elbow is designed f or use with fle xible poly tube only .
15 SYSTEM COMPONENTS DESCRIBED SYSTEM COMPONENTS DESCRIBED DRIVE ASSEMBL Y Remov e the valv e cov er to access the dr ive assemb ly . Disconnect the power source plug (b lack wire) from the PC board prior to disconnecting the motor or water meter plugs from the PC board.
SER VICE INSTR UCTIONS board. Mo v e the spring clip loop to the r ight and hold. Rotate the motor at least a 1/4 turn in either direction before gently pulling on the wire connectors to remov e the motor . Pulling directly on the wires without rotating the motor ma y break the wires off the motor .
CONTENTS The plug and/or injector can be pried out with a small screwdriv er . The plug can be wiped clean. If the plug leaks replace the entire plug. The injector consists of a throat and a nozzle. Chemically clean the injector with vinegar or sodium bisulfite.
