4 REFRIGERATOR IN STALL ATION Unpacki ng Removing p ackaging ma terials ■ Remove tape a nd glue r esidue from sur faces before tur ning on the refriger ator . Rub a small am ount of liquid d ish soap over t he adhesive with you r fingers. Wip e with warm water and d ry .
5 Electr ic al Requirements Befor e you m ove your r efrigerator into its fina l locatio n, it is impor tant to make su re you ha ve the pr oper electrical connec tion: Re com mende d Gr ound ing Met hod A 115 V olt, 60 Hz.
6 W ater Sy stem Prepa rati on (on some mode ls) Please read bef ore using the w ater system. Immediately a fter installation, follow the steps below t o m ake sur e that the wat er system is proper ly cleaned. 1. Open th e freezer door and t ur n of f the ice maker by lifting u p the wir e shutoff arm as shown.
7 4. Remove t he existing door panels, if panels we re pr ovided. 5. Slide c ustom door panels into place. NOTE: The fr eezer d oor panel s may r equir e ¹⁄₈ in. (3.18 mm) car dboard fillers b ehind t he panels to keep them fr om being loose in t hat area .
8 6. Adjust the fr ont leveling bolt to bring the r efrigerator top parallel w i th th e cabinet above the refr igerator . For st andard cabinet s, leave appr oximately ¹⁄₈ in. (3.18 m m) gap betwe en the to p hinges and th e cabinet. For full-overlay cab i nets, leave ¹⁄₄ in.
9 IM PORT A NT : ■ Y our product will not cool when the Pow er Co ntro l is set to OFF . ■ The Refrige rator Contr ol adjusts the refr igerator compart ment tempe rature. The Free zer Contr ol adjusts the fr eezer comp artment temp eratur e. Press t he UP ARROW to make the te mperatur e warme r .
10 T o dispen se ice: 1. Pr ess button for the desir ed type of ice. 2. Pres s a sturdy g lass against the ice dispenser lever . Hold the glass close to the dis penser opening so ice does not fall out si d e of the gl as s. IM PORT A NT : Y o u do n ot need to ap ply a lot of pr essur e to the lever in order to activate th e ice dispenser .
11 Changing a w ater filter cartridge The wat er filter is lo cated below th e freezer compartmen t door . 1. Locate the water filter cartridge ca p in the front ba se grille below t he freezer compartme nt door . Rot ate the cap count erclockwise t o a vertical position and pull the c ap and filter cartridge out through the base grille.
12 REME MB ER: ■ Allow 2 4 hours to pr oduce t he first batch o f ice. ■ Discar d the fir st three batches of ice produced to avoid impuriti es that may be flushed out of the syst em. ■ The quality o f yo ur ice w i ll be only as good as the quality of the wat er supplied to your ice maker .
13 Crisper Humidity Control (on some mode ls) Y ou can con trol the a mount of hum idity in the moistu re-sealed crisper . Adjust the control to any setting b etween LOW an d HIGH. LOW (o pen) lets m oist ai r out of the c risper fo r best sto rage of fruits a nd vegetables with skins.
14 Fr ee ze r B as k e t (plastic bin o n some models) The f reezer b asket can b e used to s tore b ags of fr ozen fruits and vegetab les that may slide of f freeze r shelves. T o r e mo ve and replace the freezer basket: 1. Remove basket by slid ing it out to the sto p.
15 4. W ash stain less steel and p ainted metal exter iors with a clea n spong e or soft cloth and a mild det ergen t in warm water . Do not u se abrasive or har sh cleaners.
16 Holiday and Moving Care Holid ays If you c hoose to l eave th e refrige rator on while you ’ re away , use these st eps to pr epare yo ur refr igerator bef ore you lea ve. 1. Use up an y perishables and freeze ot her items. 2. If your refriger ator has an au tomatic ice make r: ■ Raise wir e shutof f arm to OFF (up) position.

18 Ice buck et d if fi cult to remove ■ Is th e ice buck et diffi cult to r emove (on s ome models )? For m odels with an ice b ucket located on the fr eezer door , select “ cubed ” ice. Using a sturdy glass, quickly depr ess and r elease the ice dispen ser arm.
