6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Controls Electr ic ignit ors automa tically light the surface burners when control knobs are turned t o LIGHT . Before setting a control knob, p lace filled cookw ar e on t he grate. Do not operate a bur ner using empty cookware or while the grate is unoccu pied.
7 To C l e a n : IMPORT ANT : Before cleaning, make su re all controls are of f and the oven and c ooktop are cool. Do not use ov en cleane rs, bleach or rust remov ers. 1. Remove the bu rner cap from the burne r base and clean according to “General Cleani ng” section.
8 O V EN USE Electr onic Cloc k/Timer Display When pow er is first s upplied to t he applian ce, everyt hing on th e displa y wil l light u p for 5 seco nds. Then , the tim e of day and “ PF” will appear on the d isplay . Any other time “PF” appears, a power failure occurred.
9 Aluminum Foil IMPORT ANT : D o not lin e the oven bott om with any typ e of fo il, liners or cookware beca use permanent damage w ill occur to th e oven bottom finish. ■ Do no t block or co ver the oven bo ttom vents. ■ Do not cover entire rack w ith f oil because air mus t be abl e to move freely for b est cook ing result s.
10 Ov en V ent 1. Oven Ve nt The oven ven t releases hot air and mois ture from the oven, and should not be blocked or covered. Doing s o will cause poor air circulation, a f fect ing cooking and clean ing results. Never se t plastics, paper or other items that coul d melt or burn near the oven vent.
11 RANGE CARE Self-Cleani ng Cy cle IMPORT ANT : The health of some birds is extremely s ensitive t o the fumes gi ven off during the S elf-Clean ing cycle. E xposure to the fume s may result in death to certain birds. Alway s move birds to another clos ed and well v entilated room.
12 General Cleaning IMPORT ANT : Before cleaning, make su re all controls are of f and the o ven and cooktop are cool. Always follow la bel ins truction s on clea ning p roducts. Soap, water and a soft cloth or sponge are suggested first unless otherwis e noted.
13 Ov en Door For no rmal range use, it is not sug gested to re move the oven door . Howeve r , if neces sary , follow thes e instructi ons. The oven door is heavy . Befor e Removing: 1. Use a putty kn ife or s crewdri ver and i nsert it at the bo ttom corner of th e door stop clip.
