5 Location R equirem ents Y ou will need ■ A location that allows for p r oper exhaust i nstallation. See “V ent ing Requirements.” ■ A separa te 30-am p circuit. ■ If you are using a power suppl y cord, a grou nded elect rical outlet locat ed withi n 2 ft (61 cm) of either si de of the dry er .

9 ■ Put po wer sup ply cor d thr ough the strai n r elie f. Be su re that th e wire insula tion on the p ower supply cord is insid e the strai n r elief. Th e strain relief shou ld have a tight fi t with the dryer cab inet and be in a h orizontal posi tion.
10 1. Remove center silver -colored termin al block screw . 2. Remov e neut ral ground wi re from ext ern al ground cond uctor screw . Co nnect neut ral ground wi re and the n eutra l wire (white or c enter wir e) of powe r supply cor d under center , silver -colored terminal block screw .
11 3. Connect gr ound wi re (gr een or b are ) of dir ect wir e ca ble to external ground conductor s crew . Tighten scr ew . 4. Place the hooked ends of the other di r ect wire cable wi res under the outer termi nal block scr ews (hooks facing right).
12 3-wire c onnection: Dir ect wire Use wher e local codes permit connecting cabinet-gr ound conducto r to neutral wire. Dire ct wir e cab le must h ave 5 ft (1.52 m) of extra l ength so dryer can be moved i f needed. Strip 3 ¹⁄₂ " (8.9 cm) of out er coverin g from end of cable.
13 V e nting R equir ement s WARNING: T o redu ce the risk of fire , this d ryer MUS T BE EXHAUSTED OUTDOORS. IMPORT AN T : Obse rve all govern ing codes and ordin ances. The dryer exhau st must not be connected into an y gas vent, chimney , wa ll, ceiling or a concea led space of a bu ilding.

15 Special provisions for mobile home installations The exhaus t vent must be s ecurely fastened to a noncombu stible portion of t he mobile home structu re and mus t not termin ate benea th the mobil e home.
16 3. Examine the l eveling legs . Find the diamon d marking. 4. Screw the legs in to the leg holes by hand. Use a wrench to finis h turning th e legs until the dia mond ma rking i s no lon ger visibl e. 5. Place a carton cor ner post from dryer packaging under ea ch of the 2 drye r back corners.
17 DRYER USE Start ing Y our D ryer WAR N IN G: T o redu ce the ris k of fir e, electri c shock, or in jury to persons, read the IMPOR T ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTI ONS before ope ratin g th is app lianc e. The following is a guide to s tarting your dryer . Please re fer to specific sections of th is manual for more detail ed information.
18 ■ Press the WRINKL E SHIELD ™ feature button if this option is de sired. ■ Press the S IGNALS bu tton to set the desi red signal setti ng. ■ Press (and hol d) HOLD TO ST ART button unt il dryer starts (about 1 seco nd). Once an Automatic cycle h as started, the WRINKLE SHIE LD ™ feature and cycl e signals can be ad justed.
19 ■ Remove the load from the dryer as soon as tumbli ng stops to reduce wrinkli ng. This is esp ecially imp ortant for perman ent pr ess, k nits, an d synth etic fabr ics. ■ Av oid dryin g heavy work clothes wi th ligh ter fabric s. This could cause overdrying of li ghter fabrics, lead ing to increased shrinkin g or wr inkling.

21 Additi onal F eatur es WRINKLE SHIELD™ Feature Whe n you ar e unable to re mov e a load o f cl othe s f ro m t he d ryer as soon a s it stops, wrinkles c an form. The WRI NKLE SHIELD ™ feature periodical ly tumbles , rearranges and fluffs th e load to help keep wrinkles from forming.
22 Dryin g Rack The dry ing rack is usefu l for dryi ng items you would not necessa rily want to tumble dry or tha t you would norma lly li ne dry (for example, s weaters). T o use the drying rack Do not remov e the l int scr e en. 1. Open dry er door .

25 TROUBLESHOOTING First try the solutions suggest ed her e and possibly avoid the cost of a service call... Dryer Opera tion Dryer will not run ■ Has a household fuse blown, or h as a circuit br eaker tripped? There may be 2 household fuses or circuit breakers for the dryer .
26 ■ Is the dryer located in a r oom with temperature below 45ºF (7ºC)? Proper operati on of dry er cycles requires temp eratures above 45 º F (7 º C). ■ Is the dryer located in a closet? Closet doors must have ventil ation openin gs at the top and bottom of the door .
