3 RANGE SAFETY The Anti -T ip Bracket The range will no t tip during normal use. However , the range c an tip if yo u apply too much for ce or weight to the open d oor wit hou t th e anti-tip bracket fastened down p roperly . You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't immediately follow instructions.

7 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Controls The control knobs can be se t anywhe r e betw een HI and LO. Push in and turn t o setti ng. On some mode ls, the surface cookin g area locator shows w hich element i s turne d on. Use the followi ng chart as a guide when settin g heat levels .
8 Home Ca nning When canning for l ong periods, al tern ate the use of surface cooking areas, elements or su rface bur ners between batches. This allows ti me for the most recently use d areas to cool. ■ Center the canne r on the grate or largest surface cooking area or element.
9 Using the Minu te T imer The minute timer does not start or stop the oven. It works like a regular minute timer indep endent of the oven to time anything you like. The minute timer can be s et in 1-minute in crements up to 12 hours. T o use the Minute Timer: 1.
10 BAKEWARE T o cook food evenly , hot air must b e able to circulate. Allow 2 in. (5 cm) of spac e ar ound bake ware and oven walls. Use the following chart as a guid e. Bakeware The bakeware mat erial affects cooking r esults. Follow manufact ure r ’ s recommendations and use t he bakeware size recommended in the recipe.
11 Broili ng Broiling uses dir ec t radiant heat to cook food. Changing the temperature when broili ng allows more precise control. The lower the tempera ture, the slower the cooking. Thi cker cuts and unevenly shaped pieces of meat, fish and pou ltry may cook better at low er broiling temperatures.
