7 COOKTOP U SE Cooktop Controls The control knobs can be se t anywhe r e betw een HI and LO. Push in and tur n to setti ng. Use the followi ng chart as a guide w hen settin g heat l evels . ACCUSIMMER ® Fe a t u r e (on s ome models ) The ACCUSIMMER ® featu re setting is an adjust able heat set ting for more precise simmering.
8 Dual Cooking Zone (on s ome models ) The Dual Cooking Zone offers flexibility depending on the size of the cookwa re. S ingle s ize can be use d in the same wa y as a regular element. The du al size combin es both the singl e and outer element and i s recommended for lar ge r size cookware.
9 ■ For foods containing sugar in any form, cl ean up all spills and soils a s soon as p ossible. Allow the cooktop to c ool down slightl y . Then, while wearing ov e n mitts , remove the spills whil e the surfac e is still warm.
10 Lift-up Cookto p (on s ome models ) The lift- up cooktop provides e asy acces s for cl eaning be neath. Do not drop the cooktop. Da mage could occur to the fi nish and the cooktop frame. For more information, see t he “General Cleaning” s ection.
11 ELECTRONIC OVEN CONTROLS Style 1 - Electronic Oven Contr o l (on some model s ) Style 2 - Electronic Oven Contr o l (on some model s ) Style 3 - Electronic Oven Contr ol (on some model s) Disp lay Style 1 - Elec tronic Oven Control When powe r is first suppli e d t o the appl iance, “12:00 P M” will appear on the di splay .
12 Off/ Canc el The OFF/CANCEL pad stops any fun ction except the Clock, Timer , Control Lock or W arm Drawer (on s ome mode ls). Clock On some m odels, this is a 12-hour cl ock that s hows a.m. an d p.m. To S e t : Before setting, make sure the oven and Timer ar e off.
13 Contro l Loc k The Control Loc k shuts down the control pane l pads to preven t unintended use of the oven. When the control is locked, only the CL OCK SET , OVEN LIGHT (on some models ) and TIM ER pads w ill functi on. T o Lock/Unlock Contr ol: Be fore locking, make sure the oven and Timer are off.
14 P ositioning Racks and Bakeware IMPORT AN T : D o not place food or bakeware directly on the oven door or bottom. Permanent da mage will occur to the por celain finish. RACK S NOTE S: ■ Position racks before turning the oven on. ■ Do not position r acks with ba kewar e on them.
15 Bakeware The bakeware mat erial affects cooking r esults. Follow manufacturer’ s recommendations and use t he bakeware size recommended in the recipe. Use the following ch art as a guide. Mea t Therm omet er On models wit hout a temperatu re probe, always rely on a meat thermometer to determine donenes s of meat and poultry .
16 Styles 2 & 3 - Electronic Oven Cont r ols After ST ART is pressed, the oven will en ter a timed preheat condit ioning. “PrE” and the time c ountdown w ill appear on t he displa y (on so me mode ls). Wh en the prehe at co ndition ing t ime ends, a tone will sound and the sel ected temperatu re will appear on the display .
17 Conve ction Cooking (Styl e 1 e lec tronic oven contr ol) In a convectio n oven, the fan-circulated hot air continual ly distributes heat mor e evenly than the natural movement of air in a stan dard t her mal o ven.
18 CONVECT ION ROAS TING CHART Wa r m H o l d F e a t u r e (on s ome models ) IMPORT AN T : Food must be at serving temperature before placing it in the warmed oven. Food may be held up to 1 hour , howev er breads and cass eroles may becom e too dry if l eft in t he oven during W arm Hold.
19 T imed Cooking (on s ome models ) Timed Cooking allows the oven to b e set to turn on at a certain time of day , cook for a se t length of time, and/or shu t off automatical ly . Delay start should not be us ed for food such as breads and cakes bec ause they may n ot bake properly .
20 T o Set a Del ayed Tim ed Cook: Before setting, make su re the clock is set to t he correct time of day . See “Clock” sect ion. 1. Press BAK E. 2. Set th e temperat ure (op tional). 3. Press the TEMP/TIME “up ” or “down” arrow pad to enter a temperatu r e other than th e one displayed.
21 T o Modify Sequ ence Programming: 1. Press DEL ETE STE P . The last step of the sequ ence will be can celed, and the step prior to the cance led sequence wil l show on the display for either review or modificat ion.
22 Prepare Cooktop and Storage Drawer: ■ Remove plast ic items from the cooktop be cause the y may melt. ■ Remove all items fr om the storage drawer . How the Cy cle W orks IMPORT AN T : The heating and c ooling of porcelain on steel in the oven may re sult in discoloring, loss of gl oss, hairline cracks and poppi ng soun ds.
23 Style 3 - Elect ronic Oven Control Delay St art Self-Cl ean is not ava ilable on St yle 3 Oven Co ntrol. T o St op Self-Clean any time: If the clea n function is terminated wh ile the oven cav ity temperature is greater than 50 0ºF (260ºC), th e oven door will remain la tched unti l the oven cav ity te mperature is below this thresho ld.
24 CONTROL P ANEL Do not use ab rasive cleaners , steel- wool pads, gritty washcloth s or some paper towe ls. Damage may occur . ■ Glass cleaner an d soft cloth or sp onge: Apply glass cleaner to soft cloth or sp onge, not directly on panel. COIL ELEMENT S (on some models) Do not clean or imme rse in water .
25 Oven Doo r For normal range use, it is not suggested to remove the oven door . How ever , if removal is necessary , make sure the oven is off and cool. Then follow these ins tructions. The oven door is he avy . Before Removing : 1. Use a putty knif e or screwdriver and in sert it at th e bottom corner of th e door stop clip.
26 W armin g Drawer (on some model s) Remove all items fr om inside the w arming drawer , and allow the unit to c ool compl e tely before atte mpting to r emove the dr a wer . To R e m o v e : 1. Open drawer to it s full ope n position. 2. Locate the black triangl e-shap ed tabs o n both sides of the drawer .
27 Display shows message s ■ Is the display sh owing “PF” or flashing a t ime? There has been a power fail ure. Clear the disp lay . See “Display(s)” s ection.
