4 Befo re Using Y o ur Dishwash er ■ Instal l where dishwash er is protected from the elements. Protect agains t freezing to avoid pos sible rupt ure of fill va lve. Such rupt ures are not covered by t he warranty . See “Sto ring” section for winter st orage information.

Y ou will find important s afe ty information and u seful operating tip s. Using Y our Ne w Dis hwa sher 1. Scrape lar ge food soil and har d items (toothpicks or bones) from dishes.
7 4. Push door firmly closed. The d oor latches automatically . Run hot wat er at the sink near e st your dishwa sher unt il the wat er is hot . (Se e “ Dishwas her Efficiency Tip s. ” ) T ur n off water . 5. Press the desi red cycle and option select ions.
8 ■ Load plas tic items so th e force of the spray does not move them during t he cycle. ■ T o avoi d chipping, do not let st emware touch other it ems. ■ Small bowls , pans, and oth er utensil s can be pl aced in the top rack. Load bow ls in the cen ter section for b est stabil ity .
9 Loading B ottom Rack The bottom rack is designed for plate s, pans, casse roles, and utensil s. Many it ems, up to 1 3" (33 cm) ta ll, fi t in the b ottom rack. (See recommended loadin g patter ns shown.) NOTE : The features on you r dishwasher rack may va ry from the drawings shown.

11 DISH W ASHER US E Dete rgen t D is pen ser The dete r gent dispens er has tw o sections. The smal ler Pre-Wash sect ion em pties d eter gent into t he di shwash er when you cl ose the door . The larger Main Wash sectio n automatica lly emp ties detergent into the d ishwash er during th e wash.
12 Rinse Aid Dispenser IMPORTANT: Y our di shwasher i s designed to u se a liquid rinse aid. The use of rin se aids greatly improve s drying by all owing wate r to drain from the dishes aft er the final rins e. They also keep wat er from forming droplets that can dr y as spots or streaks.
13 ■ Use cycle s or option s that a dd extra heat t o the wash or rinse portion of the cy cle only when need ed. ■ Run your dis hwasher with full load s.
14 Canceling a Cycle Anytime during a cyc le, press CANCEL/D RAIN. Y o ur dishwa sher starts a 2-min ute drain, if needed, an d clears all i ndicators. NOTE : If your dis hwasher d oes not need drainin g, the dishwash er stops an d clears all indicators.
15 Delay start Sele ct this o ption to run you r dishwa sher a t a late r time or d uring off-peak hours. Y ou can add items to the l oad anyt ime durin g the delay count down. Afte r adding items, close the door firmly u ntil it latche s. The delay countdown w ill not c ontinue if the door is not latc hed.
16 W ASHI NG SP ECIA L IT EMS If you have doubts about washing a part icular item, ch eck with the manufac turer to see if it i s dishwashe r safe. Material D ishwash er Safe?/Comments Alumi num Ye s High water temp erature and detergents can affect finish of an odized alumin um.
17 DISHWA SHER CARE Cle aning Cleaning the exterior In most case s, regular use of a soft, d amp cloth or sponge and a mild d eter gent is all that is neces sary to keep t he outs ide of your dishwash er looking nice an d clean. If y our dishwas her has a stainles s steel exteri or , a stainless steel cl eaner is recommended.
