8 MICROWA VE OVEN USE A magnetron in the ov en produces microwaves which reflect off the metal floor , walls and ceiling a nd pass through the tur ntable and appropriate cookware to the food.
9 Cookware an d Dinnerware Cookware and dinnerware must fi t on the tur ntabl e. Always us e oven mitts or pot holders when ha ndling becau se any di sh may become hot from heat transf erred from the food. Do not use cookwar e and d i nnerwa re w ith gold or silver trim.
10 Mi crow av e C o oki ng P ow er Many recipes for micr owave cooking specify wh ich cooking power to us e by per cent, name or number . For exa mple, 70%=7=Medium -High. Use the follow ing chart as a general guide for the suggested cooking power of specific foods.
11 Beverage Beverages may b e heated in the microwave oven by to uching the BEVERAGE pad. One or tw o 8-oz (250 mL) cups can be h eated automatical ly using th is function. To U s e B E V E R A G E : 1. T ouch BEVERAGE. The display will show the setting for heating 1 cup .

14 Kids Menu The Kids Menu function is pr eset with cooking times and cook pow ers for sever al typi cal chil dren’ s menu ite ms th at ar e cooked in the microwave ove n. Use the following chart as a guide. *This f unction is not intend ed for meal-in-a -cup pr oducts.
15 Steamer V es sel (not provided with mi crowave oven) Use the steamer ve ssel wi th the Stea m/Simmer feature to stea m foods. See “Replacemen t Parts and A ccessories” for ordering information ■ The st eamer vess e l will b ecome hot. Alwa ys use oven mit ts or pot holde rs when handling.
16 MICROWAVE OVEN CAR E Gener al Cleani ng IMPORT ANT : Before cleani ng, make sure all controls are of f and the mic rowave oven is cool. Alway s follow label ins tructions on cleaning product s. Soap, water and a soft cloth or s p onge ar e suggested unless otherwise noted.
17 Replacing F ilters The grease filters should be removed and cleaned at least once a month. The charcoal filter cannot be washed and sh ould be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Do no t operate th e microwave oven without the filters i n place. See “Assistanc e or Service” to reor d er filters.
