8 U SING Y OUR R ANGE Using the control knobs Push in the control knobs befor e turning them to a setting. Y ou can set them anywhere between HI and OFF . NOTE: The ACCUSIMMER™ control knob does not have to be pushed in before turning. Surface cooking area heat settings Use the following chart as a guide.
9 U SING THE SURF ACE COOKING AREAS ( CONT . ) Using the Keep W arm element (Models GR 399 LXG and GR 399 LXH) Use the Keep W arm element to keep cooked foods warm. It is not recommended for heating cold foods. Choose the MIN setting for heat-sensitive and smaller quantities of food.
10 Using the ceramic glass cooktop (on some models) Cooking on the ceramic glass cooktop is similar to cooking on coil elements. There ar e, however , a few differ ences: • The surface cooking area will glow r ed when the element is turned on.

16 16 PRESS YOU SEE R TIME HR MIN (example for ten minutes) 1. Press CLOCK. 2. Set the time. Press the “up” ( s ) or “down” ( t ) pad(s) until the correct time shows on the display .
17 17 3. Start the minute timer . The minute timer will begin counting down immediately after the timer is started. When the time is up: Y ou will hear four 1-second tones, then four 1-second reminder tones every minute until you press TIMER OFF. NOTE: T o remove the reminder tones, pr ess and hold TIMER SET for 5 seconds.
18 18 F BAKE (example for bake at 375°F) PRESS YOU SEE TEMP Y our oven is designed with the ACCUBAKE ® temperature management system to constantly monitor oven temperature. The bake element will cycle, as needed, to maintain the desired temperature.

When roasting, put your food in the oven. Y ou do not have to preheat the oven when roasting, unless your r ecipe recommends it.
20 20 PRESS YOU SEE F (factory setting of “0”) BAKE NOTE: DO NOT measure the oven temperatur e with a thermometer . Opening the oven door will lower the oven temperature and give you an incorr ect reading. Also, the thermometer temperatur e reading will change as your oven cycles.
21 21 USING YOUR RANGE A DJUSTING THE OVEN TEMPERA TURE CONTROL ( CONT . ) 2. Set the new offset temperatur e. Press s to raise the temperatur e or t to lower the temperature in 10°F amounts. Y ou can set the temperature change to as low as -30°F or as high as +30°F .
22 NOTES: • Do not preheat when br oiling, unless your recipe recommends it. • Leave the door partly open whenever you use the oven to broil. This lets the oven stay at the pr oper temperatures. 1. Place the rack where you need it. Y ou need to place the rack so that the surface of the food is at least 3 inches away from the br oil element.
23 23 4. Press CUSTOM BROIL. 5. Start the oven. Y ou can change the temperature setting any time before or after pr essing ST ART/ENTER. T o change the setting, see “T o custom broil at a lower temperature” below . After changing the setting, you do not have to press ST ART/ENTER again.
24 24 USING YOUR RANGE B ROILING ( CONT . ) Recommended rack positions are number ed from the bottom (1) to the top (5). For best results, place food 3 inches or more fr om the broil element.
25 25 The electronic MEAL TIMER control will turn the oven on and off at times you set, even when you are not ar ound. Delayed time baking/roasting is ideal for foods that do not need a preheated oven, like meats and casseroles. Do not use delayed time cooking for cakes, cookies, etc.

27 27 U SING THE ELECTRONIC MEALTIMER™ CONTROL ( CONT . ) USING YOUR RANGE 3. Set the temperature (optional). Do this step if you want to set a temperature other than 350°F . Press ▲ to raise the temperature or ▼ to lower the temperature in 5°F amounts.
28 28 9. When the start time is reached: Y ou will hear a 1-second tone. The display will count down the baking/roasting time in hours and minutes (if the cook time is more than one hour or in minutes and seconds if the cook time is less than one hour).
29 29 USING YOUR RANGE T HE OVEN VENT Ceramic glass cooktop models (Models GR 399 LXG and GR 399 LXH shown) Hot air and moisture escape fr om the oven through a vent on the backguard below the contr ol panel. The vent lets air circulate pr operly . Be careful not to block the vent, or you could get poor baking/roasting r esults.
30 30 U SING THE S ELF -C LEANING C YCLE w W ARNING Burn Hazard Do not touch the oven during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Keep children away from oven during Self-Cleaning cycle. Do not use commercial oven cleaners in your oven. Failure to follow these instructions can result in burns, or illness from inhaling dangerous fumes.
31 T o delay the start using delay start time: 1. Press AUTO CLEAN. This will automatically set a 3 1 ⁄ 2 hour Self-Cleaning cycle. NOTE: There will be a 30-minute cool-down 1 ⁄ 2 hour before the cycle is over . 31 NOTE: Make sure the clock is set to the corr ect time of day .
32 32 YOU SEE O N HEAT D TIME CLEAN TIME LOCKED YOU SEE CLEAN 2. Set the cleaning time (optional). If you want a Self-Cleaning cycle longer or shorter than 3 1 ⁄ 2 hours, use the hour and minute pads to set the cleaning time you want.
33 33 S ETTING THE CONTROLS ( CONT . ) 8. After the oven cools to room temperatur e, wipe off any r esidue or ash with a damp cloth or sponge. If needed, touch up spots with a mild abrasive cleanser or cleaning sponge.

When the terminal is pushed into the receptacle as far as it will go, push down the edge of the coil element opposite the receptacle. NOTE: Reflector bowls reflect heat back to the cookware on the coil elements.
