6 START-UP GUIDE Bef ore using your di shwash er , rem ove al l pack aging mater ials. Read thi s entire Use and Care Guide. Y ou will find importan t safety in formation and usefu l operating tips. Using Y our New Dishwashe r 1. Scrape lar ge food soil and har d items (toothpicks or bones) from dishes.
7 Loading T op Rack The top rack is designed for cups , glasses , and s malle r items. (See recommended loadin g patter ns shown.) NOTE : The features on you r dishwasher rack may va ry from the drawings shown. ■ Place items so op en ends face down for cl eaning and draini ng.
8 ■ Do not load glas ses, cups, or pl astic items i n the bottom rack. Load small it ems in the bottom rack only if they are secu re d in place. ■ Load plat es, soup bo wls, etc., bet ween tin es and facin g inwar d to the sp ray . ■ Overlap the edge s of plates for large loads.
9 T o r emove the basket from the door 1. Grasp the silve rware basket by the ha ndle. Sli de it toward the top of the door . 2. Lift the ba sket off the holding buttons . T o replace the basket in the door 1. Set th e silv erwar e baske t on the holding buttons.
10 NOTE : Fill amou nts shown are for standard pow dered detergent. Amounts may vary if y ou use liquid or concent rated powdered detergent. Follow instruct ions on the pa ckage when using liqu id dishwash er detergent or conce ntrated pow dered detergent.
11 Dishwasher Efficiency T ips Hot wat er diss olves a nd acti vate s the dis hwashi ng det ergent. Hot water als o dissolv es grease on dishes and h elps glasses dry spot-f ree. For be st dis hwash ing resu lts, wa ter sh ould be 120°F (49°C) as it enters the dish washer .
12 † A s mall amount of water runs thr ough the p ump to r emove s oil partic les. Canceling a Cycle Anyti me during a cyc le, press CANCEL glows. The dishwasher pau ses for about 5 seconds an d starts a 2-min ute drain (if neede d). Let the di shwasher drai n completely .
13 Op tio n S el ect io ns Y ou can customize your cycl es by pressin g an option. If you change your min d, press the option again to turn the option off. Selec t a different option if de sired. Y ou can change an option an ytime before the se lected opt ion begins.
14 Locked Use Locked to prevent unintende d use of the dishwas her . Y ou can also use t he Locked feature to prevent un intended cycl e or option changes du ring a cycle. NOTE : When Locked is lit, al l buttons are dis abled. T o lock the controls Press and ho ld for 5 seconds.
15 DISHWASHER CARE Clea ning Cleaning the exterior In most case s, regular use of a soft, d amp cloth or s ponge and a mild d eter gent is all th at is ne cessary to keep the ou tside of your dishwash er looking nice and cl ean.
