6 For Non-V ented (recir culating) Insta llations If it is no t possibl e to vent c ooking f umes and vap ors to th e outside, t he hood c an be used in t he non-v ented (recirculatin g) version, by fitting a charcoal filter and the deflector . 7 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Prepare Locat ion ■ It is recomme nded that th e vent sy stem be inst alled before hood is inst alled. ■ Before making cutouts, make su re there is proper clearance within the ceiling or wa ll for exhaus t vent. ■ Check y our ceilin g height and t he hood heigh t maximum befo r e you sel ect you r hood.
8 Install Range Hood 1. Using 2 or mo re people, h a ng range hood on 2 m ounting scre ws through the mount i ng slots on b ac k of hood. 2. Remove the grease filter . See “Range Hood Care” section. 3. Level t h e range hoo d and tighten up per mountin g screws.
9 Make Electr ical Connection 1. Discon nec t p ower . 2. Remove terminal box cover . 3. Remove the knoc kout in the termin al box and inst all a UL listed or CSA approved ¹⁄₂ " strain relief . 4. Run home p ower suppl y wiring th rough ¹⁄₂ " stra in relief into termi nal b ox.
10 RANGE HOOD USE The range hood is design ed to remove smoke, cooking vapors and odors from the cooktop area. For best results, start the hood befo re c ooking an d allow i t to oper ate seve ral min utes aft er the cooking is complete to cl ear all smoke and odors from the kitchen.
