6 SA VE THESE INSTRUCTIONS For self-cleaning ovens: ■ Do Not Clean Door Gasket – The door gasket is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damage, or move the gasket. ■ Do Not Use Oven Cleaners – No commercial oven cleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kind should be used in or around any part of the oven.

8 ELECTRONIC OVEN CONTROL Display( s) When pow er is first s upplie d to the appl iance, everyt hing on th e disp lay(s ) will lig ht up f or 5 s econds. Then , “PF id = 27” or “PF id = 3 0” will appe ar . Pr ess LOWER OVEN C ANCEL, UPPER OVEN CANCEL or CA NCEL OFF (on some models) to clear displa y(s) .

10 Help Prompts Help prompts are visible mes sages that appear on the up per oven display on combination oven models or the di splay on sing le oven models.
11 Cooking Guidelines Covering Covering food helps r etain moisture, s horten cook time and reduce spatteri ng. Use th e lid su pplied w ith cookware. If not availab le, wax paper , paper towel s or plastic w rap approved for microwaves may be used. P lastic wrap should be t ur ned back at one cor ner to provide an openin g to vent steam.
12 Cooking Power Many microwave recipes speci fy which cooki ng power to use by percent, name or number . For example, 70%=7=Mediu m-High. Use the follow ing chart a s a general guide for t he suggested cooking power of specific foods. T o Set a Cooking Power o ther than 100%: 1.

16 BEFORE USING Odors are normal when th e range is new. This happens the first time the oven i s used. IMPORT ANT : The healt h of some bi rds is extremely sens itive t o the fumes given off. Expos ure to the fu mes may result i n death t o certain birds.
17 Meat Thermometer On models wit hout a tempe rature probe, always rely on a meat thermometer to determine do neness of meat and poultry . The inter nal temp erature, not appearan ce, is wha t counts. A meat thermo meter is not supp lied wi th thi s appl iance .
18 Broil Maxi/Econo Broiling uses direct radiant heat from the broil element(s) to cook food. During maxi broi ling, both the inner and outer broil elements heat. Durin g econo broiling, on ly the i nner broil ele ment heats. The element(s ) cycle on and off in intervals to maintain the oven temperat ure.
19 T imed Cooking Timed Cooking allows the oven to be set to turn on at a certain time of day , cook for a se t length of time, and/or shut of f automati cally . Dela y start sh ould not b e used for food such as breads and cakes bec ause they may n ot bake properly .
20 How the Cycle W orks IMPORT ANT : The hea ting and cooling of porcelain on steel i n the oven may re sult in discoloring, loss of gloss, hai rline cracks and popp ing sou nds. The Self-Cl eaning cycle uses very h igh temperat ures, bur ning soil to a powdery as h.
