Understanding Microwave Oven Safety IMPORTANT SAFElY INSTRUCTIONS Microwave ovens have been thoroughly tested for safe and efficient operation. However, as with any appliance, there are special installation and safety precautions which must be followed to ensure safe and satisfactory operation and prevent damage to the unit.
To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity (continued): -Test dinnerware or cookware before using. To test a dish for safe use, put it into the oven with a cup of water beside it. Cook at 166% Cook Power for one minute. If the dish gets hot and water stays cool, do not use it.
