7 START-UP GUIDE Bef ore using your di shwash er , rem ove al l pack aging mater ials. Read thi s entire Use and Care Guide. Y ou will find importan t safety in formation and usefu l operating tips. Using Y our New Dishwashe r 1. Scrape lar ge food soil and har d items (toothpicks or bones) from dishes.
8 Loading T op Rack The top rack is designed for cups , glasses , and s malle r items. (See recommended loadin g patter ns shown.) NOTE : The features on you r dishwasher rack may va ry from the drawings shown. Do not cover thi rd level wa sh (on some model s).
9 Loading Silverware Basket Load the silv erwar e baske t while it is in the bottom ra ck or take the basket out for loading on a counter or table. NOTE : Unlo ad or r emo ve th e bask et befo re u nload ing th e rack s to avoid spil ling wa ter d roplets on th e silver ware.
10 NOTE : Fill amou nts shown are for standard pow dered detergent. Amounts may vary if y ou use liquid or concent rated powdered detergent. Follow instruct ions on the pa ckage when using liqu id dishwash er detergent or conce ntrated pow dered detergent.
11 Dishwasher Efficiency T ips Hot wat er diss olves a nd acti vate s the dis hwashi ng det ergent. Hot water als o dissolv es grease on dishes and h elps glasses dry spot-f ree. For be st dis hwash ing resu lts, wa ter sh ould be 120°F (49°C) as it enters the dish washer .
12 Can celing a Cycl e Y ou can cancel a cycl e at any time. 1. T urn the cycl e control knob slowly clockwise u ntil you hear water drai ning. Let the dishwash er drain compl etely . 2. Open the door . 3. T urn the cycl e control knob to OFF . Changing a Cycle or Setting Y ou can change a cycle anyt ime during a cycle.
13 Delay W ash (on some models) Use De lay W ash to r un your di shwasher at a later time or d uring off-peak hours. Y ou can add items to the l oad anyt ime during t he delay count down. After ad ding items, cl ose the door firmly unt il it latche s.
14 DISHWASHER CARE Clea ning Cleaning the exterior In most case s, regular use of a soft, d amp cloth or s ponge and a mild d eter gent is all th at is ne cessary to keep the ou tside of your dishwash er looking nice and cl ean.
