3 RANGE SAFETY The Anti-Tip Bracket The range will not tip during normal use. However , the range can tip if you app ly too much force or weight to th e open door wit hout havi ng th e an ti-t ip br acke t fa sten ed do wn p ro pe rly .

7 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Contr ols The control knobs can be se t anywhe r e betw een HI and LO. Push in and turn t o setti ng. On some mode ls, the surface cookin g area locator shows w hich element i s turne d on. Use the followi ng chart as a guide when settin g heat levels .
8 ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conducti on and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with rounded, warped, ribbe d or dented bo ttoms could cause u neven heati ng and poor cooking results. ■ Determin e flatness by placing the stra ight edge of a ruler across the bottom of the cookware.
9 Cookware IMPORT AN T : Do no t leave empty cookware on a hot surface cooking area, element or surface burne r . Ideal cookware should have a fl at bottom, strai ght sides and a well-fittin g lid, a nd the ma terial sh ould be of medium-to -heavy thick ness.
10 Start/Enter The Start/Enter pad begins any oven function. If th e Start/Enter pad is not pressed within 5 seconds aft er pressing a functi on pad, t he “ St art? ” indica tor light will flash as a reminder .
11 Oven T emperature Contr ol IMPORT AN T : Do not use a thermometer to measu re oven temperature becau se opening the ove n door and eleme nt or burn er cycling may give in correct readings. The oven provides accurat e temperatures; however , it may cook faster or slower th an your previous oven, so the temperatu re calibrat ion can be adjust ed.
12 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is u sed the first few times, or when it is heavi ly soile d. IMPORT AN T : The health of some birds is extremely sensi tive to the f umes gi ven of f. Expo sur e to t he fum es ma y r esul t in dea th to certain birds.
13 Meat Thermo meter On models wit hout a temperatu re probe, always rely on a meat thermometer to determine donenes s of meat and poultry . The inter nal temperature, not app earance, is wha t counts. A meat thermometer is not sup plied with this appli ance.
14 T o Broil: 1. Press CUSTOM BROIL. The broil oven in dicator light will light up. 2. Press ST A RT/ENTER. The On and Heat oven in dicator ligh ts will li ght up. The temperature setting can be changed any time before or after press ing ST ART/EN TER.
15 RANGE CARE Self-Cleaning Cycle (on som e models) IMPORT AN T : The health of some birds is extremely sensi tive to the fumes give n off during the Sel f-Cleaning cyc le. Exposure to the fume s may result in death to certain birds. Alway s move birds to another closed an d well ventilated r oom.
16 General Cleaning IMPORT AN T : Before cleani ng, make sure all controls are of f and the oven and cookt op are cool. Always follow label i nstructio ns on cle ani ng produc ts. Soap, wat er and a sof t cloth or sponge are suggested first unless otherwise noted.
17 SURFA CE UNDER COOKTOP (o n some models) Do not r emove the cooktop to avoid product damage. For more information, see “ Lift-up Cooktop ” section . ■ Steel-wool p ad OVEN DOOR EXTER IOR ■ Glass cleaner an d paper tow els or nonabrasi ve plastic scrubb ing pa d: Apply glass cleaner to soft cloth or sp onge, not directly on panel.
18 4. Pull d oor straight up , then t oward you. Hin ge hangers will slide out of fron t frame hinge slot. Do not r emove door removal pins until the door is replaced on the range. T o Replace: 1. Grasp the door on the sides with your fingers on the fr ont of the door an d your t humbs o n the insi de surface.
19 Oven indica tor lights f lash ■ Do the oven indicator lights flash? See the “ Oven Indicator Ligh ts ” section . If the indicat or light( s) kee ps flashi ng, call for serv ice. See “ As sist ance o r Serv ice ” sectio n. Display shows message s ■ Is the display showin g “ PF ” or a flashing time? There has been a power fail ure.
