6 COOKTO P USE Cook top Co ntrols Electr ic ignitors a utomatically light the surface burners when contr ol knobs are tu r ned to LIGHT . Befor e setting a contr o l knob, place filled cookwar e on the grate. Do not ope r ate a burner using emp ty cookwar e or while the grate is unoccu pied.
7 T o Cl ean: 1. Remove t he burner cap fr om the burner ba se and clean accor ding to “ General Cleaning ” sec tion. 2. Clean the gas tube opening wit h a damp cloth . 3. Clean clog ged burner ports with a str aight pin as show n. Do not en lar ge or di stort the por t.
8 Home Canning When cann ing for long p eriods, alte r nate th e use of surface cooking are as, elements or su rface burners between batches. This allows time for the m o st r ecently used areas to cool. ■ Center the canner on the g rate or lar gest surface c ooking ar ea or element .

12 Preheating Afte r ST ART/ ENTER i s pr essed, the oven wi ll enter a ti med pr eheat co nditioning . “ PrE ” and the time countdown will ap pear on the display . When the preheat conditioning tim e ends, a t one will sound and the selected tem peratur e will appear on the disp la y .
13 Tim e d C o o ki ng (on some m odels) Timed Cooking allows the oven t o be set t o turn on at a cer tain time of day , cook for a se t length of tim e, and/or shut of f autom atically . Delay start sh ould not be used fo r food such as br eads and cake s because they ma y not bake pr operly .
14 Timer The Tim er can b e set in mi nutes an d seconds or hour s and minutes and counts do wn the set time. The Timer do es not start or s top t he o ven . To S e t : 1. Pres s T IMER. The colon will fla sh during Timer pr ogramming. 2. Pres s the “ up ” or “ down ” a rrow p ads to s et le ng th of ti me .
15 OVE N U S E Baking and Roasting Bef ore bak in g an d roas ti ng , position the ra cks accor ding t o the “ Position ing Racks and B akewar e ” section. When roa sting, it is not n ecessary t o wait f or the oven to pr eheat befor e putt ing food in, unless r ecommended in the recipe.
16 To B r o i l : 1. Open th e broile r door an d roll out the bro iler p an and g rid. 2. Place t he broiler pan and grid so g rease can drain down int o the lowe r part of th e br oiler pan. 3. Place f ood on bro iler pan. Then p lace the p an on the br oiler rack an d close the br oiler door .

18 Ov en Door For n ormal ra nge use, it is n ot sugge sted to r emove the oven door . However , if necessary , follow these ins tructions. The oven door is heavy . Before Remo ving: 1. Use a putty knif e or scre wdrive r and inser t it at the bo ttom corner of the d oor stop clip .
