5 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Unpacki ng 1. Empty the micr owave oven of any packing materials . 2. Clean the inside with a soft, damp cloth. 3. Check for damage, such as: ■ a door that is not lined up correctly ■ damage around the door , or ■ dents on the interior or exte rior of the microwave oven.
6 P ARTS AND FEATURES This manual may cover several differ ent models. The model you have purchased may have some or all of the features shown here. The appearance of your particular model may differ slightly from the illustrations in th is manual. Tur n t a b l e The turntable can r otate in either dir ection to help cook f ood more evenly .
7 Start The ST ART pad begins any functi on. If non-sensor cooking is interrupted, touching ST ART will r esume the preset cycle. T ouching ST ART will not resume an interrupted sensor cycle.
8 MICROWAVE OVEN USE A magnetron in the microwave oven pr oduces microwaves which reflect of f the metal floor , walls and ceilin g and pass through the turntable and appr opriate cookware to the food.
9 T o T est Cookware or Dinner ware for Microwave Use: 1. Place cookware or dinnerware in microwave oven with 1 cup (250 mL) of water beside it. 2. Cook at 100% cooking power for 1 minute. Do not use cookwar e or dinnerwa r e if it becomes hot and the water stays cool.
10 Cooking in Stages The microwave oven can be set to cook at differ ent cooking powers for various lengths of ti me, up to 3 stages, plus a defrosting stage. T o Cook in Stages : 1. Place food on the turntable and close the door . 2. T ouch COOK TIME.
11 Sensor Cook The sensor in the microwave oven detects humidity released from the food and automatically se ts a cooking time based on the selected food category . Use the following chart as a guide. NOTE: When covering foods, make su re the vent opening is lar ge enough for the moisture to escape.
12 Auto De frost The Auto Defr ost featur e’ s pr eset pr ograms can be used or the microwave oven can be manually set to defrost. ■ Unwrap foods and remove lids (for example, from fruit juice containers) before defr osting. ■ Shallow packages will defrost more quickly than deep blocks.
13 MICROWAVE OVEN CARE General Cleaning IMPORT ANT : Before cleaning, make sure all controls are of f and the microwave oven is cool. Always follow label instructions on cleaning products. Soap, water and a soft cloth or sponge are suggested unless otherwise noted.
