5 COOKTOP USE The contr ol knobs can be set to anywher e between HIGH and LOW . Push i n and tur n to sett ing. Ceramic Glass The surface cook ing area will glow red when an element is on. Some parts of the surface cooking ar ea may not glow red when an element is on .

7 Cookware IMPOR T ANT : Do not leave empty coo kware on a hot surface cooking ar ea, element or surface burner . Ideal cookware should have a flat bottom, straight sides and a well- fitting li d, and the material should be of mediu m-to-heavy thickness.
8 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are norm al when the oven is used the first few times, or when it is heavily soiled. IMPOR T ANT : The health of some birds is extr emely sensitive to the fumes given off. Exposure to the fu mes may result in death to certain birds.
9 Sabbat h Mode The Sa bbath Mo de sets the oven t o r emain on in a Bak e settin g until turned off. A Timed Bake can also be set to kee p the oven on for only part of the Sabbath. The Oven Contro l Lockout Feature (if present) will be disabled duri ng the Sabbath Mode.
10 P ositioning Racks and Bakeware IMPOR T ANT : T o avoid permanent damage to the porcelain finish, do not place food or bakew are dir ectly on the oven door or bottom. Bakeware T o cook food evenly , hot air must be able to cir cu late. Allow 2" (5 cm) of space ar ound bakeware and oven walls.
11 Broi ling Leave the door open 6" (15 cm) at the broil stop position to ensure proper br oiling temperature. Preheat the oven for 5 minutes before putting food in u nless recom mended otherwise in the recipe. Position food on grid in a br oiler pan, then place it i n the center of the oven ra ck.
