9 Ext ensi on T a bles 1. Mount a cast iron t able t o the edge of t he m a in t ab le wi th three M 8 x 25 hex c ap scre ws (Fi gure 9) usi ng a 12 mm wrench. Do not f u ll y tighten y e t . 2. T he extensi on tabl e m us t be l e v eled wit h the m a in t able.
10 Thi s m achi ne must be grounded. Groundi ng provi des a path of l eas t resi s tanc e to hel p d iv ert curr ent away f ro m the oper ator in case of elec trical m alf unc ti on. Make sure t he v oltage of your power supply m a tches the s pecif ications on the m ot or plat e o f the m achi ne.
11 Pu lley A lignment The pul ley s shoul d be in l ine f or proper bel t operati on. 1. Rem o v e the belt guar d and place a strai ght edge agai nst the f ac es of bot h pull eys (F igure 13).
12 IM P ORT AN T: Be sure that the height of f ront and rear r ollers are t he s am e. And the table rol lers must always be set paral l e l to the tabl e . Cu tterh ead Al though your planer w as caref u l ly adjusted at the f actory , it should be check ed bef ore being put i nto operat ion.

Do not full y ti ghten t he s crews; m ake t hem only s nug enough to hol d the knif e i n t he groove.
14 Work T able P arallel t o Cutterh ead The work t able i s s et parall el to the cutt erhead at the f actory and no f urther adj ustm ent should be necessary. If your m achine i s plani ng a taper, fi rst check to see if the k nives are set proper ly in the cut terhead.
15 An ti-Kickback Fin gers The ant i-kickbac k fingers (A , Figur e 23) are an im portant s afet y feat ure, as they help prev ent ki ckback of stock. They operate by gr a v ity and should be inspected f r equentl y to mak e s ure they ar e f ree o f gum and pitc h, so that they m o v e independent ly and operate c orrectl y .
16 Outfeed R oller Height 1. Disconnec t m achine f rom pow er source. 2. Make sure t he kniv es are set pro perly as previ ously expl ained under " Knif e Adju s t ment." 3. P lace the gauge bl ock (F, Figure 26) on t he tabl e dir ectly beneat h the cut terhead ( D, Fi gure 26).
17 Chip Deflec t or The c hip de f l ector (B, Fig. 28) keeps wood chi ps from f alling i nto t he outfeed r oll er. The def lect or should be set approx im ately 1/16" t o 1/8” from the t ip of the knives. M ake sure the def l ector is ori ented so the bev e l on its f r ont edge mat ches the shape of the c utter head.

21 Fr o m thi s poi nt on, any table m o v ement will be based off this setti ng. The setting will be k ept in the devi ce’s m e m o ry even when the di gital displ ay is tur ned o ff, and only needs re-sett ing aft er a batt ery has lost char ge and needs repl acing.
22 Method 2 uses a scrap board and c ali pers. 1. Tur n on the digit a l d i splay. It turns on in absolute m ode. 2. Plane one side of a scrap bo ard at an appropri ate and saf e cutting dept h (1 /16” f or ex am pl e) . 3. Raise the t able by the s am e amount (1/16” ), then t urn the board ov er and plane t he other side.
