6 En PREPARATION To enjoy qual ity sound th orough ly, plac e this uni t in the appropriate positions, and install th e componen ts properly. T he following illustrations a re the setting images of this unit. • Do not place th is unit on/unde r any other com ponents such as BD playe r in a pile.
7 En Placing PREPARATION English y • Aim t he TV remote cont rol toward the top of TV remote sign al rece ptor . • You ca n operate the TV remote co ntrol by u sing the TV rem ote signal receptor even if the unit is in standby mode. • Some T V remote cont rols may not work .
8 En Follow th e procedure belo w to connect the subw oofer integrat ed receiver and speakers. y • Addition al surround speak ers (commerci ally available ) are required for 5.1ch playb ack. • Refer t o “Using other spe akers” ( ☞ P. 20) when usi ng additional speake rs.
9 En Connection PREPARATION English Follow the steps below fo r cable conn ection a ccording to the co mponents y ou use. *1 y For HD MI contro l function , an optica l cable is not req uired if the TV’s “A RC” term inal is us ed “2”. Aud io return ch annel (ARC ) carri es digital audio signal (from the TV) to this unit via an HDMI cable.
10 En BASIC OPERATION Once you h ave finished all cab le connectio ns and remote cont rol operation , follow the procedu re below to start basic playb ack oper ation. 1 Pres s (Power). This unit is tu rned o n and the S TATUS indic ator light s green.
11 En BASIC OPERATION English You can enjo y a realistic sou nd effect. Press SURROUND to set surround mode. Press SURROUND repeatedly until desired mode appears in the front pa nel displa y. Surround mode d escription s in followi ng order *1 This m ode is available o nly duri ng play back with surround speaker s connecte d.
Enjoyi ng soun d modes 12 En Play back digitally co mpressed form at such as MP3 and WMA em phasizing b ass and treb le exten ded dynamica lly. Press ENHANCER to turn the f unction on/off. When Compress ed Music Enhanc er is activated, ENHANCER indicato r is displayed.
13 En BASIC OPERATION English ■ Automat ic preset You can st ore up to 40 F M stations ( 01 to 40). 1 Press ANALOG/FM repeatedly to se lect FM input. 2 Press O PTION to ente r the optio n menu. “1.VOLUME TRIM” appears fi rstly in the front panel di splay.

Battery charge feature The batt ery of a connecte d device can be ch arged when the unit is on. An iPo d/iPhone c onnected to the un it keeps on bein g charged even i f the unit is set to standby mod e.

Repeat thi s procedure until desi red menu/sub me nu is displaye d.
19 En Setu p menu USEFUL OPERATION English Menu: 1:SP LEVEL Adjust the vol ume balance be tween the channe ls with test tones outpu t from each channel. Sub menu: “1-1:FRONT L” “1 -2:FRONT R”: Adjusts the output level of the front speaker (left/right) channe ls.
20 En Setup me nu Menu: 5:SP SETUP You can set the sp eaker type if you want to add o r change speakers. When you connect on ly the supplie d speaker, you do not have t o chan ge the setting . ■ Selecting the number of channels and the fr ont s peaker type Sub menu: 5-1:SP CHANNEL You can sel ect the number of out put speakers.
21 En Setu p menu USEFUL OPERATION English Menu: 7:D.RANGE You can adjust the dynam ic range compressi on. Dynam ic range is the differen ce between the small est sound that can be hear d above the n oise of the equi pment and t he biggest sound t hat can be heard wi thout distor tion.
