5 ZM 24ST UK Safety Instructions • The built-in saf ety interlock s witches pre- vent the micro wa ve o ven from operating when the door is open. • Do not tamper with them, nor attempt to operate the ov en with the door open, as open door operation can result in e xposu- re to microw av e energy .
6 ZM 24ST UK Safety Instructions Utensil safety • Most glass, glass ceramic and heat-resi- stant glass w are utensils are e xcellent f or use in the microw av e oven. Although microw av e energy will not heat most glass and ceramic items, these utensils can become hot as heat transf ers from the f ood to the container .
7 ZM 24ST UK Safety Instructions Food safety • Do not heat f ood in a can in the microw a- ve o ven. Alwa ys remov e the food to a suitable container . • Do not use the appliance f or deep f at fry- ing, because the f at temperature cannot be controlled, and hazardous situations can result.

11 ZM 24ST UK Cleaning Wipe ov er the front of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use abr asive cleaning agents (these can damage the surf ace). For stainless steel fronts use a suitable stainless steel cleaning agent that leav es a protective film against finger prints.
12 ZM 24ST UK Action Comments 1. Press the door open button. The door opens. 2. Place f ood in the cooking space. 3. Shut the door . An audible clic k will be heard when the door is shut. If the door is not shut proper ly the appliance will not function.

After having selected the prog ramme, merely enter the weight of the dish, the rest of the programming is done automatically . The f ollowing gives y ou an ov er vie w of which f oods can be defrosted and cooked with which programme .
17 ZM 24ST UK Example: T o defrost a 1 kg chicken: 1. Press the button f or Automatic Defrost until J J 1 1 appears in the display . 2. Use the Timer/weight knob to set the weight. 3. Press the Star t button. The display shows the defrost time. 4. If you want to modify the settings , press the Clear button and start again.

23 ZM 24ST UK Care and c leaning The ov en must alwa ys be clean. Residue of f ood from spill-overs or spatters will absorb microw av e energy causing it to b urn on. This could reduce the efficiency of the ov en and ma y cause unpleasant odours. Do not attempt to tamper with or make an y adjust- ments or repairs to any part of the oven.
24 ZM 24ST UK Something Not w orking If the appliance does not function correctly , please carry out the following chec ks before contacting y our local Service Force Centre. If the oven does not come on: • Check the appliance is connected correctly .
25 ZM 24ST UK Garantee conditions Standard guarantee conditions W e, Zanussi, undertake that if within 24 months of the date of the purchase this Zanussi appliance or any part thereof is prov ed to be.
26 ZM 24ST UK For the installer 1. Remove an y promotion label from the door . 2. This ov en can be used as a free standing ov en or built-in, into a kitchen cabinet using kit number BF246, which is ordered separately . T o install the ov en in a kitchen cabinet f ollow the instructions supplied with the building-in kit.
27 ZM 24ST UK Build-in model T o install the appliance in a kitchen cabinet, use the appropriate mounting frame. Note the rele vant instructions for installation and connection.
