9 The F reezer F reezing fresh food The appliance can be used to freez e fresh food in the quantit y specified on the rating plate. Freezing fr esh food should always be done af ter proper pr eparing as follows.
10 Thawing Deep frozen or fr ozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed in the fridge or at room temperature, depending on the time available. Small food it ems may even be cook ed from frozen, in this case cooking will take longer .
11 Hints & T Hints & T ips ips Normal Operating Sounds Y ou may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing. When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
12 Maint Maint enance and Cleaning enance and Cleaning Before any maint enance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNE CT the appliance from the electricity supply. Internal Cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.
13 When the ice melts, the water flows through the defrost water outlet thr ough the back into the evaporator tray which sits on the t op of the compressor and evaporates due t o its warmth. Check and clean the defrost water outlet regularly - a label inside the appliance warns you for this.
