Depending upon the position which you choose for your appliance, you may wish to re verse the way in which the door opens.
7 Bef ore using Remov e all securing tapes. W ash inside the appliance with luke warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter gent as the smell may linger . Dry thoroughly . The electrical connections W ARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EAR THED.

10 OPERA TION Refrigerator/Freez er - Starting-up and temperature regulation Insert the plug into the wall socket. Open the refrigerator door and turn the thermostat knob, to be found on the upper right side of the inner liner , clockwise, from the « O » position, to start the appliance.
11 HEAL TH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES Because of consumer demand, preser vativ es hav e been remo ved fr om many pre-pr epared f oods. This together with the changes in shopping habits to a once-a-week shop, mean that safe handling and storage of f ood is even mor e important than ever .
12 Freezing fresh f ood In any 24 hours you can freeze up to 3 kg. Place food to be frozen on the shelf of the freezer as this is the coldest part. The food to be frozen must be fresh and of the best quality . The size of each pack should be small enough to ensure that it is used in one go.
13 Fresh f ood refrigeration T o obtain the best performance, do not store warm food or e vaporating liquids in the refrigerator; do cov er or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flav our . Do not cov er the shelves with an y protecti ve material, such as paper , cardboard or plastic, which may obstruct the air circulation through them.
14 P ositioning the door shelves T o permit storage of food packages of v arious sizes, the door shelves can be adjusted in height. T o make these adjustments proceed as follo ws: Gradually pull the shelf in the direction of the arro ws until it comes free, then reposition as required (Fig.
15 Star ting the appliance Check that the shelf with the Cool Check is positioned correctly (as described pre viously). Close the door and leav e the appliance overnight to allo w the temperature to reach a safe le vel.
16 Defr osting Refrigerator The refrigerator automatically defrosts e v ery time the compressor stops. Important T o av oid defrost water overflo wing into the fridge, periodically clean the water dischar ge hole in the centre of the V shaped drip collector at the back of the refrigerator compartment behind the fruit and ve getable drawer .
17 Important When defrosting the freezer , the fridge is also controlled by the thermostat and will not be operational during this period. A temperature rise of the frozen food packs, during defrosting, may shorten their safe storage life.
18 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Before any maintenance or cleaning w ork is carried out, DISCONNECT the appliance from the ELECTRICITY supply . Internal c leaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of water).
