11 Chapter 4 Wireless AP Mode (Defau lt) 4.1 Log in This section is showing you how to configure your new ZSR4174WE through the W eb-ba sed Confi gur ation Utility . 1. Open an Internet Explorer, ty pe 192.1 68.2.1 in the add ress bar, and then p ress Enter .

15 4.3 LAN Settings MAC Address: ZSR4174WE’ s physical MAC address on your local network is unchangeabl e. IP Mode: ZSR4174 WE provi des two IP modes: Static IP: Fill the network address.
16 4.4 Wireless Settings 4.4.1 Basic Settings Network Mode: Sup ports 11 b, 1 1g, 11b/g mixed, 11b/g/n mix ed modes. Default v alue is 11b /g/n mixed mode. SSID: Mai n Service Set Identi fier . It’s the nam e of your wireless network. Default v alue is Wirel ess_N.
17 Channel Bandwi dth: Select the channel bandwi dth from 20M or 2 0/40M to improv e the wir eless performance. Guard Interval: In telecommuni cations, guard interv a ls are used to ensur e that distinct transmi ssions do not i nterfere with one another .
18 4.4.2 Wireless Security Settings Security Settings contains seven Authentication T ypes, including D isabl e, Open, Shared, Mix ed WEP , WPA -P ersonal , WP A2-P ersonal, and Mi xed W P A/WPA2-P ersonal . 4.4.2.1 Mixed WEP WEP (Wired E quivalent Privacy) is an encr yption method used to protect your wireless data communi cations.
19 Default Key: Y ou can set up to four sets of WEP key , and you can decide which key i s being used by default here. WEP Key1, 2, 3, 4: Input WEP key cha r acters here, the number of chara cters must be the same as the number display ed at “K ey F ormat” fi eld.

26 4.5 System Tools 4.5.1 Time Settings This function is to select the time zone for your location. If you turn off ZSR4174WE, the time setti ngs will disappear . However , ZSR4174WE will automatically obtai n the GMT time a gain once it access to the Intern et.

29 4.5.6 Change Password The new password sh ould b e less than 14 char acters. User Name: Enter a new user name. Old Password: Enter the old password. New Password: Enter a n ew password. Re-enter to Confirm: R e-enter to confirm the new password.
