6 Formatting SD cards Y ou must format SD cards in the to make them usable with the recor der . Note: Formatting a card will permanently erase all data on it. Formatting SD cards NOTE If the SD card’ s write-protection switch is ON, the card cannot be formatted.

10 Setting the image quality Y ou can set the resolution and frame rate used for recor ding. The amount of available recor ding time decreases as the image quality is incr eased.
11 Y ou can set the sound quality to use for recor ding video and audio. The amount of available recor ding time decreases as the sound quality is incr eased. 13 Recording audio and video From the main operation scr een, you can start recor ding audio or video by pushing a single button. Recording audio and video 1. 15 Deleting recordings Deleting recor dings Y ou can delete recor ded video and audio les to increase the amount of open space on the media card. 1. Press while the le that you want to delete is playing. • If you pr ess this when on the main operation screen, the last r ecorded or played le will be selected for deletion.

Use this connector when you want to use headphones or an external audio device’ s amplier to listen.
