5 www .bissell.com 800.237.7691 The only tool you’ll need to assemble your vacuum c leaner is a Phillips screwdriver . Attach handle to vacuum 1 . Locate the handle and cord wrap.
6. Attach vacuum hose and tools (continued) 4. Slide the extension wand and crevice tool together into the storage clip. 5. Slide the dusting brush/upholstery tool into the storage clip. 6. Attach the T urboBrush by snapping it onto the top cap of the upper tank.
Height adjustment The powerfoot/rotating floor brush on your vacuum can be adjusted to c lean several floor surfaces. NOTE: For optimal c leaning performance, adjust to the lowest practical setting. If your cleaner is difficult to push, adjust to the next higher setting.
T ransporting cleaner 1. T o move your cleaner from room to room, put the handle in the upright position, tilt the cleaner back on its rear wheels and push forward.
Clean carpet sensor (Select models only) The clean carpet sensor detects dirt being picked up while the vacuum is in use. When the vacuum is picking up dirt, the red light will come on. Occasionally , the lights may alternate quickly back and forth if the area is only lightly soiled or the dirt is spread out.
Special on-board tools (continued) Crevice T ool: Use in tight narro w spaces. Extension Wand: Use with desired attachment for a longer reach. Curved Hose Wand: Use with desired attachment for a longer reach or for cleaning hard to reach places. T urboBrush ® : Use rota ting brush action for small areas such as stairs and upholstery .

M aintenance and care 12 www .bissell.com 800.237.7691 Empty dirt container The dirt container needs to be emptied when the dirt reaches the “Full” line on the container . 1. Unplug the vacuum from electrical outlet. 2. Slide the Lock ‘n Seal Lever to the “Unlock” position.
13 www .bissell.com 800.237.7691 M aintenance and care 4 1 2 3 Check rotating floor brush and drive belt Y ou should check your vacuum c leaner’s rotating floor brush and drive belt regularly for wear or damage. Y ou should also clean the brush and brush ends of strings, hair and carpet fibers.

With rotating floor brush removed from vacuum cleaner (Steps 1-4 of check rotating floor brush and drive belt), grasp old drive belt and remove from motor pulley .
