PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION WARNING: Electr ic Shock Hazard All servicing requiring access to non-insulated components must be performed by qualified service personnel. Do not open any access panels which require the use of tools. Failure to heed this warning can result in electrical shock.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS RE A D THIS CAREFULL Y BEFORE ST A RTING THE INST A LLA TION Unpack the unit. Inspec t all components f or completeness and condition. Ensure that all packing materials have been removed from the unit. Verify that the Spray Head Gasket (#33) and Spray Disk (#34) are properl y installed.
OPERATION 5 WA RNI NG : Personal Injury 5 Gallon water bottle can weigh up to 50 pounds. Install bottle carefully. Injury can result fr om improper lifting techniqu e or from attempting t o lift a full bottle with out adequate physical ability. CA UTI O N: E qui pme nt Electrical Damage DO NOT manually fill brew er through bottle ring.
OPERATION (contin ued) WATER HEATER Water temperature is sensed b y a thermobulb inserted into the water tank. This temperature signal is fed to the thermostat, which controls line power to the heating elem ent. The setpoint temperature is adjustable at the thermostat.
BREWING COFFEE CAUT ION: Burn Haza rd Exposed surf aces of the brewer and brew chamber may be HOT to the touch, and can cause serio us burns. CA UTI ON: Burn Hazard To avoid splashing or over- flowing ho t liquids, ALWAYS place an empty airpot under the brew cham ber before star ting the brew cycle .

11 SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS ACCESS PANELS Top panel is held by four screws at the corners. Front panel is held by t wo screw s at the bottom and a retaining lip at the top. TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT With the “READY TO BREW” light ON , dr aw a cup of water from the hot water faucet.
IMPORTANT: Adjust timer with a full water bottle install ed in the bottle rin g. IMPORTANT: Before setting assembly into tank, make sure tank lid gasket is properly seated on flange of lid. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN . IMPORTANT: W hen removing tank lid assembly, be careful to not damage or kink thermosta t capillary tube.
SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS ( continued) 13 REPLACE HEATING ELEMENT Remove tank lid assembly per ab ove. Remove two hex nuts h olding elem ent to cover. Pul l element from mounting holes. Reassemble in reverse order. REPLACE SOLENOID Symptom: brewer will not flow water; or, brewer drips continuously from brew head.
CA UTIO N - CH EMICA L BURN HA ZA RD Deliming chem icals are caustic. W ear appropriat e protective gloves and goggles during this procedure. Never siphon deliming chemicals or solutions by mou th. This operation should only be perfo rmed by qualified and ex- perienced service personnel.
7. Set the tank back into the bre wer. Reassemble the tank lid to the water tank. Mak e sure the gasket is properly in place, then reinstall the hold-down strap. 8. Reinstall w iring to heating element and the rmostat. Reinstall the hi-limit thermostat .
