PRECAUTIONS A ND GENERAL INFOR M ATION 3 WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK H AZARD All servicing requiring access to non-insulated components must be performed by qualified service personnel. Do not open any access panels which requ ire the use of tools. Failure to heed this warning can result in electrical shock.
INSTALL ATION 4 RE A D THIS CAREFULL Y BEFORE ST A RTING THE INST AL L A TION REFER TO EXPLODED VIE W S FOR COMPONENT NAMES/ NUMBERS Unpack the unit. Inspec t all components f or completeness and condition. Ensure that all packing materials have been removed from the unit.

WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD Brewer must be properly grounded to prevent possible shock hazard. DO NOT assume a plumbing line will provide suc h a ground .
OPERATION Fig. 4 Brewer Operation Diagram START-UP For initial start-up, or if the br ewer has not been used for an extended period of t ime: ♦ Be sure spray disk and bre w gasket are properly installed in the brew head. ♦ Be sure the water supply is prope rly conne cted and the w ater supply valve is turned ON .
OPERATION (continued) Water temperat ure is sensed by a thermobulb insert ed into the water tank. This temperature signal is fed to the thermostat, which controls line power to the heating elemen t. The setpoint temperature is adjustable at the therm ostat.
BREWING COFFEE CAUTION: BURN HAZARD Exposed surfaces of the brewer, brew chamber and decanter m ay be HOT to the touch, and can cause serious burns. CAUTION: BURN HAZARD To avoid splashing or overf lo wing hot liquids , ALWAYS place an empty decanter under the brew chamber before starting the brew cycle.
CLEANING I NSTRUCTIONS PROCEDURE: Clean Coffee Brewe r PRECAUTIONS: Disconnect brewer fro m electric power. Allow brewer to cool. FREQUENCY: Daily TOOLS: Mild Detergent, Clean Soft Cloth or S ponge Bristle Brush, Bottle B rush 1. Disconnect brewer from electric pow er.

SERVICING INST RUCTIONS (continued) TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF. Remove top panel. Pull vent tube o ut of tank lid and inse rt a thermometer of known accuracy in hole. Reconnect brewer to electrical powe r. Place empty cont aine r under bre w chamber.
SERVICING INSTRUCT IONS (continued) 13 IMPORTA NT: Water pressure must be betwee n 20 p.s.i and 90 p.s.i. flowing pressure. If wate r pressure ex ceeds this value, or if water pressure varies g reatly, a pres sure regulator must be installed in the w ater s upply line.
SERVICING IN STRUCTIONS (continued) 14 REPLACE SOLENOID Symptom: Automatic brewer will not flo w water; or, automatic brewer drips continuously from brew head. Unplug po wer cord or t urn circ uit break er OFF . Turn OFF and disconnect water supply from brewer inlet fitting.
REPLACE TIMER A SSEMBLY Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF. Remove front panel. Remove knob and three screws holding timer to bracket. Disconnect wiring to timer.
CAUTION: CHEMICAL BURN HA ZARD Deliming chemicals may be caustic. Wear appropriate protective gloves and goggles during this procedure. Never siphon deliming chemicals or solutions by mou th. This operation should only be perfo rme d by qualified and experienced service personnel.
7. Set the tank back into the bre wer. Reassemble the tank lid to the water tank. Mak e sure the gasket is properly in place, then reinstall lid clamps. 8. Reinstall wiring to heating el em ent and therm ostat. Reassemble piping for the faucet. Veri fy that all internal components are dry , then reinstall the top panel.
