1 DESCRIPTION The EX12LED In frared LED Illu mina tor prov ides ni ght -time cov er t lig h t ing for sho rt range indoor and outdoor surveillance when used in co nju nction with existi ng or newly installed mon ochrom e camera s.
2 UNPACKI NG Care should be ta ken wh e n unpacking the shi pped unit. Check th e parts list an d confirm all i tems have been loca ted. Inspect the equipment thoroughl y to ensure nothing wa s damaged in tran sit. Contact BOSCH Se rvice Center if a problem is noted, se e th e rear page o f this bookl et for cont act numbers.
3 INITIAL PREPARATIONS The EX12LED opera tes in either Vdc or Vac mode. T he power inp ut supply voltages can be 12-24VAC/DC See Se cti on 2, Input Po wer Con ne ction s – Ref e re nce Only. Determ ine the optim um loca tion for the Illumina to r unit .

8 3. MOUNTING - ILLUMINATOR UNIT Select a suitable l ocation that i s prote cted from accidental damage , tampering, and environmen tal conditions e xceeding the LED’s sp ec ifi cat ions. Caution: Th e selected mountin g locati on should not place the came ra in a situation wh ere its env ironme nt al specif icat ions could b e exc e ed ed.
9 Secu re all ca bling. Installation s on drywall must u se a ¼” bolt and drywall butte rfly type anch or or superio r co nn ect io n. The EX12LED can be mounted to any flat surf ace. The su pp lie d “U” shap e d mou nt ing bracket allows for t ilt as well as rotation.

11 4. LED ADJUSTMENTS Note: The curren t setting of L ED is 0.9A by manufacturer default. End use r not advisabl e for adjustmen t. For photocell “On /Off” light-level adjustm ent, rotate VR2.

ILLUMINATOR UNIT RE-ASSEMBLY Make su re the input power wi re s are properl y conn ected a nd t i g ht ened int o th e te r minal b l ock , all hole s are sealed ag ainst moistu re pene tration and all mounting screws are tigh t. Step 5. 1 - Check the gaske t att ached to the rear co ver pla te has not be en dislodged o r warped .

14 6. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOLUTION Fuse Bl ow s - Check fus e ra ting. - Check fo r shorting betwee n th e e ncl osur e and the in put pow er. Don’ t know if LEDs are “ON” 850nm LE Ds w il l h ave a faint red glow when “ON”.
15 PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOLUTION LEDs are not tur ning “OFF” when sufficient ambient lig ht is present - Make sure the photo sensor is not covered or hidden be hind any object. - Check that th e phot ocell is rec essed in the viewing window. - Adjust t he photoc ell’s variable res istor towards the “OFF” pos ition.
