MM701G and MM702G User Manual 1 1 I NSTALLING THE M ODEM The MM701G and MM702G are versatile, high-s peed modems that conn ect an Ethernet LAN to one or more service providers using G .shd sl transm ission technology. The connect ions provide instant and high-speed br oadband access to the Internet or to other types of Wide Area Networks (WANs).

This chapter provides steps to help you access the Web interface pages for configuration and management of the modem.

This menu bar provides navigation to all Web pa ges used fo r configuration and management. Additionally, the System Status page provides a status of th e current modem configuration.
MM701G and MM702G User Manual 13 3 C ONFIGURING THE LAN The LAN configuration sets up the interf ace between the modem 10Base-T LAN port and devices on the LAN. The LAN is managed by your netw ork administrator, who will make the decisions concerning its t opology.

Typically, the DSL parameters for the modem are preset to immediately sync hronize with the servi ce provider (DSLAM application).

An LOSW is indicated when three or more consecutive frames contain one or more bit errors in the frame sync word.
